      JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the VP of Communications and Content, this position will lead the digital content efforts of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.


      This is a full time position that includes a full benefits package, including health insurance, retirement, and paid time off. This role will work in person, at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

      PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

      • Provide direct oversight of Digital Content Specialist, Video Content Creator, Staff Photographer, and summer Multimedia Intern, helping to develop their talents and grow their careers
      • Conceptualize, develop, and oversee the creation and implementation of the institution’s short and long-term digital content goals including a wide range of high-quality content (video, audio, photo, etc.) on all digital and social media channels
      • Oversight of the institution’s growth of its digital and social channels, with a distinct approach to each platform
      • Oversee upkeep and strategy for the redesigned website, with input from the Director of Communications
      • Work closely with the curatorial team on digital content that will be included in future and existing exhibits
      • Work closely with Graphic Designers on content to be used on all digital platforms
      • Work with Recorded Media Manager to discover content in the Hall of Fame and Museum’s archives that can be shared on the organization’s digital and social channels
      • Along with VP and Specialist, establish core messaging/tone of voice for the Hall of Fame and Museum’s digital content
      • Support the institution’s strategic initiatives including membership, development, sponsorship, retail, events, special experiences, education, and programming
      • Through market research and analysis, identify industry trends and best practices to apply them to our content strategies while continually evaluating the institution’s presence on emerging digital platforms
      • Analyze the performance of our digital initiatives, generating reports that can be understood by the institution’s Leadership and identify areas for improvement

      SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

      • As assigned, work on specific projects with other departments.
      • Contribute to the Communications Department’s content efforts on Induction Weekend, Classic Weekend, and other signature events
      • Participate in the execution of video production projects as staffing needs dictate

      JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

      • EDUCATION: Undergraduate degree required in Digital Media or related field

      • EXPERIENCE: Five years of experience in a sports or content creation/distribution environment, with previous managerial experience preferred.

      • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

      · Strong leadership skills are a must

      · Strong written, verbal, and digital communications skills with a creative background and demonstrated content leadership at a team, museum, or organization

      · Strong knowledge of and interest in baseball and its history

      · Proficiency in various digital analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, etc.

      · Extensive knowledge of social media marketing, as well as SEO/SEM

      · Work as a solution-oriented team member with sound judgment.

      · Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to set, maintain, and meet deadlines.

      · Interest in and commitment to the mission of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.

      TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to move 60 lbs. with or without accommodations and perform repetitive actions over time.

      TYPICAL EQUIPMENT USED: Ability to operate a computer and use general word processing and database programs; ability to use a scanner and photocopier; ability to operate a digital camera and video camera.
