- Five (5) years of business experience with demonstrated knowledge of supply management procedures
- Warehouse/Purchasing experience preferred
- Direct and coordinate the purchase of essential inventory in support of district needs.
- Oversee purchase of materials and equipment for the district by competitive bid, competitive sealed proposal, request for proposal, government catalog contract purchase, informal quotation, and negotiations following established district criteria and in compliance with state purchasing rules.
- Oversee preparation of all bidding documents, including notice and instructions to bidders, specifications, and form of proposal.
- Evaluate formal bids and make recommendations for the awarding of contracts to chief financial officer for school board approval.
- Obtain and evaluate comparative prices and quotations. Make purchasing decisions based on information obtained.
- Oversee approval of purchase orders and monitoring of all purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy of information, calculations and coding.
- Serve as the responsible party for the receipt and distribution of textbooks and other educational materials.
- Oversee ancillary requests, such as campus-to-campus fixed asset and special function transfers in support of district activities.
- Coordinate the disposal of surplus equipment, furniture and obsolete materials through the auctioning process.
- Recommend and maintain departmental budget and authorizes expenditures.
- Establish fair and impartial vendor relations with regard to supply and equipment availability, purchase orders, and contracts.
- Prepare and modify annual bid/proposal calendar and bid assignments.
- Maintain Purchasing/Central Distribution Web sites.
- Select, train, supervise, and evaluate staff, and make recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
- Manage staffing needs, inclusive of training, supervision and discipline.
- Direct annual textbook inventory and ensures district compliance with TEA policies.
- Coordinate records retention and destruction schedules to ensure compliance of records management within the boundaries of current state statutes.
- Satisfy mandatory annual physical inventory requirements.
- Develop systems and procedures for the procurement of all supplies and equipment necessary for the operation of the school district with strict compliance to Board policy and state law.
- Prepare and publish guidelines to implement centralized bulk purchasing, utilizing input from user departments in setting standards and determining items to be warehoused.
- Maintain a safe working environment through proper building/equipment maintenance and repair.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Provide supervision and direction to central distribution and procurement staff regarding employee relations, recruiting and staffing responsibilities, required reports and duties, and overall department functions.

Salary Range: Min-$105,797 Mid-$128,335 Max-$148,273 (Based on previous experience)
2023-2024 Salary Schedule
2024-2025 Salary Schedule is pending school board approval
