- Planning and collaboration with the technical sales and project management teams
- Support technical sales activities, labs and associated equipment and resources
- Manage design team execution
- Work with the team and customers to resolve technical challenges as they arise
- Ensure team compliance with quality processes
- Ensure that designs are optimized for manufacturability
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Ensure that design inputs are achieved in design outputs
- Ensure that risk management practices are applied and executed
- Manage resources to maintain schedule compliance
- Manage product requirements with our customers
- Oversee technical reviews
- Ensure proper training and career growth of the team members
- Ensure appropriate capabilities for current and new technologies and applications
- Develop strategic packaged solutions that can benefit different customers through reuse
- Significant executive engineering management experience in the design and development field, and possess a solid and diversified technical/engineering knowledge base (Advanced degree in technical/engineering discipline desirable)
- Additional experience in other areas (optics, fluidics, chemistry, etc.) a plus.
- A portfolio of innovative successful design executions is expected
- Manage a team of electrical engineers, test engineers and engineering technicians
- Develop innovative product architecture solutions
- Manage engineering resource allocation,
- Highly effective communicator (business and technical)
- Excellent customer relations experience and skills
- Strong leadership and team building experience and skills
- Strong motivational skills
- Able to successfully manage a variety of concurrent efforts
