      Role: Director of Engineering (Battery SaaS Software)

      Industry: Battery Management & Energy Storage

      Salary: ~$200,000-$280,000

      We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the development of innovative cloud-centric software solutions tailored for managing extensive fleets of lithium-ion batteries. Your expertise in energy storage and SaaS will be pivotal as you collaborate with Product Managers and Software Engineers to implement on-demand features that enhance our battery management systems.

      Please note: Candidates without experience in energy storage or battery management will not be considered.

      Core Responsibilities:

      • Drive the development of SaaS applications and features that align with our next-generation battery management products.
      • Design and implement functionalities for commercial SaaS focused on predictive and prescriptive operations and maintenance.
      • Oversee the creation of software that enables real-time monitoring and control of fleet-wide energy storage systems.
      • Develop intuitive web and app interfaces that showcase asset status, key metrics, visualizations, and automated O&M feedback.
      • Innovate autonomous software solutions for the remote control of energy storage assets.
      • Manage end-to-end automated subscription processes across product lifecycles.
      • Lead the design of AI-centric software capabilities with seamless MLOps integration.
      • Generate metrics and visualization tools that enhance operations, performance, and algorithmic analysis.
      • Handle large-scale IoT data management, processing over 10 GB daily from multiple energy storage containers.
      • Adapt services and features to suit multi-tenant environments for web and app platforms.

      Operations and Resource Management:

      • Conduct evaluations of functionality, performance, and cost-effectiveness on a regular basis.
      • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with various software engineering teams.
      • Respond swiftly to software and system issues, prioritizing field-related problems.

      Key Qualifications:

      • 7+ years of experience in energy storage systems or renewable energy SaaS software development.
      • 10+ years in building commercial cloud-based services for extensive IoT data and fleet management.
      • 10+ years of hands-on experience with front-end cloud/web service technologies.
      • 5+ years of demonstrated success in operating reliable and available cloud infrastructure.
      • 5+ years collaborating with AI-driven software products in commercial cloud environments.
      • 5+ years managing customer feedback and user experience for cloud/web-based services.
      • Experience managing and collaborating with consultants and contractors for cloud/web development projects.
      • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required.
      • Preferred industry certifications in Cloud/Data engineering or related fields.

      Preferred Skills:

      • Expertise in front-end and back-end programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Java, etc.
      • Proven ability to design optimized architecture for commercial web/app services.
      • Advanced knowledge of cloud services and features from providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
      • Capability to develop business-centric performance metrics for battery energy storage systems.
      • Strong skills in user interface design for utility-scale battery systems.
      • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
