Job Description

- Oversees daily operations of the Skilled Trades, Facilities Maintenance and Grounds Departments, implementing effective procedures and processes to ensure efficiency.
- Manages contracts and relationships with third-party vendors; ensures external teams uphold Live! Casino & Hotel’s standards of service and quality.
- Prepares and manages departmental budget, strategic initiatives, and long-term energy efficiency plans.
- Conducts regular facility inspections and ensures timely completion and documentation of all maintenance and repair tasks in the maintenance management system.
- Leads capital projects and property renovations, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with contractor bidding standards.
- Obtains necessary permits and licenses; ensures full compliance with local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Ensures safety and security of guests and team members through active management of safety programs and injury reduction initiatives.
- Establishes and enforces performance standards, promoting quality, teamwork, and excellent customer service across departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge and experience in electrical, plumping, HVAC, carpentry, construction, finishes, and energy efficient utilities.
- Strong knowledge of central plant systems, building automation systems, sequence of operations, and control systems
- Adherence to deadlines in an interruptive environment.
- Ability to complete a broad variety of tasks and deadlines requiring an irregular work schedule.
- Active involvement in a leadership role in Live! Casino & Hotel sponsored community activities.
- Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.
- Ability to recognize and solve complex problems.
- Ability to effectively manage people, processes and procedures.
- Troubleshooting skills that allow identification of root causes
- Ability to ensure all facility operations adhere to legal, regulatory and OSHA health and safety standards
- Requires a four (4)-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in managing or supervising large, complex commercial facility inclusive of line and staff team members in each of the functional areas: Maintenance; Construction, Trades, Energy efficiency programs
- Minimum of the Grade 3 Stationary Engineer’s License in Maryland, Grade 1 is preferred.
- Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license
- Ability to be able to respond to emergencies 24/7
- Ability to stand and ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel; use hands and arms to reach, legs and feet to balance, stoop, kneel or crouch
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs and infrequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs
- Ability to regularly utilize sufficient vision or other powers of observation to review documents and computer screens and organize documents and materials
