      Job Summary

      The Director of Shelter Services is responsible for providing guidance and oversight for the CBI’s Arizona statewide shelter programs. This position will offer guidance and support to key management staff to ensure optimal program performance and staff productivity for Regional Behavioral Health Programs, City, County and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded programs. The director will work closely with the Senior Director of Housing and Community Integration to develop, implement and maintain shelter services including support services, operations and shelter grant management.

      The position requires routine meetings with leadership including but not limited to, Senior Directors, Associate Directors and, key management staff to monitor the shelter requirements. This position requires frequent coordination with Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) and crisis facilities to ensure referrals and enrolled members receive the appropriate care and coordination. The director will review data and outcomes with key leaders to ensure program goals and contract compliance are met. The director will assist with the development of policies, workflows, desktop procedures and other program agreements as needed to ensure contract compliance.

      The director will conduct routine meetings with leaders to develop workplans that provide key updates on the success of programs and address barriers as they arise. In addition, the director will participate in the weekly leadership meeting to ensure leaders are addressing and reviewing agency policies with staff during staff meetings.

      The Director of Shelter Services is responsible for ensuring leaders overseeing grant funded programs are adhering to grant requirements, participating in the grants management process which includes time and effort, and pre-invoicing process, budget tracker reviews and reporting. The director will work closely with the Grant and Resource Development department to ensure grant programmatic requirements are met.

      The position will interface with external stakeholders and internal partners and will act as a representative for Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI), displaying professionalism in all interactions. The position requires interfacing with key stakeholders during designated monthly meetings, Community Advisory Committee meetings, council meetings, and other designated meetings.


      Skills/Requirements:

      • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a behavioral health related field preferred.
      • Three to five (3-5) years of successful experience in leadership over programs and grant management required.
      • Proven success with large-scale initiatives, change management, and culture shifts required.
      • Demonstrated experience directing and implementing new systems and processes to enhance internal operations and organizational effectiveness required.
      • Previous experience in a municipal, non-profit and/or grant making organization preferred.
      • Previous experience successfully administering grant funds is preferred.
      • State of AZ Driver’s License (Valid and in good standing)
      • Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record
      • Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) in accordance with A.A.C. R9-10-101.33 and CBI Clinical Policies and Procedures
