UTMC, a family-owned 111-year-old company, is the long-term industry leader in refrigerated semi-trailers and North America's third largest semi-trailer manufacturer. UTMC has six manufacturing factories - five in various states within the United States and one in Mexico -- and a research and development facility in California.We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, collaborative Director of IT to lead and transform our technology strategy, drive innovation, and ensure robust cybersecurity and privacy protections. The IT Director will report to the Chief Executive Officer. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive experience in cybersecurity and data privacy and a good working knowledge of Generative AI. The ideal candidate should bring a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, with experience aligning technology to improve collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, and IT—while also enhancing production visibility, quality, and overall operational efficiency.HCEW-MS and UTMC are headquartered in City of Industry (Los Angeles County), California. This is an on-site position.Responsibilities include:• Transformation: Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives that modernize core systems and improve cross-functional business processes.• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the organization's goals and fosters innovation.• Risk Management: Lead cybersecurity efforts, ensuring strong threat detection, incident response, and comprehensive Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (“BCDR”) planning. Implement and enforce data privacy controls, protecting the Company from breaches and ransomware attacks, and educating employees on best practices.• Generative AI Implementation: Drive the adoption and integration of Generative AI technologies to enhance efficiency, automation, and decision-making.• Technology Infrastructure: Oversee IT operations, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of systems and networks.• Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.• Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and key business stakeholders to strategically assess, implement, and optimize technology solutions and resources.• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of global technology, business process breakthroughs, and industry trends.Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems or related field required. (Master's preferred)• Proven leadership experience in IT management, with a track record of successfully leading teams and driving enterprise-wide digital transformation in a manufacturing environment.• 15+ years of IT experience in progressively responsible roles, with at least seven (7) years in a leadership role.• Strong change management and project management skills.• Strong background in ERP leadership, particularly in selecting, implementing, or optimizing systems for manufacturing and supply chain.• Demonstrated expertise in IT systems, cybersecurity, privacy, and cloud computing.• Solid understanding of Generative AI.• Strong understanding of privacy regulations (e.g. CCPA) and data protection principles.• Experience managing IT budgets and project timelines.• Excellent problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills.• Ability to adapt to emerging technologies and industry trends.Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Regularly exercises discretion and the ability to prioritize workload.Certifications, Licenses & RegistrationsNone required but preferred: PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CISM.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
