- Serve as a highly visible, knowledgeable, and articulate representative of Indiana Tech.
- Coordinate and maintain a visit schedule of at least 100 prospect visits per year. Solicitation goals will be set on an annual basis and will be based on specific donor situations.
- Participate in all aspects of the gift cycle:
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit prospects with the potential of making gifts of $1,000 and higher with emphasis on developing five- and six-figure gifts over time. Emphasis on discovery and qualification visits, with additional specific visit goals for these prospects, will be established.
- Develop individual cultivation and solicitation strategies for the top 10 prospects within the assigned caseload, including a written strategy.
- Work collaboratively with and in support of volunteers, other development and advancement staff, and other College representatives to cultivate and solicit donors for college-wide priorities. Support the Warrior Club Athletics Advisory Board and partner with them to discover, qualify, cultivate, and solicit donors.
- Coordinate athletics participation in the annual Day of Giving Appeal with the support of other IA staff.
- Coordinate and host athletic alumni events with cooperation from the IA and Athletics Departments, including both on-campus and off-campus athletic alumni and fundraising events.
- Recommend and assist with programming involving the president, vice president for institutional advancement, other vice presidents, and campaign volunteer leaders.
- Travel is a requirement of the position.

- Number of new leadership annual ($1,000+) and major gift ($25,000+) donors qualified.
- Strong commitment to the philosophy and mission/values of Indiana Tech as an institution of higher education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Deep understanding of college athletics, particularly in a NAIA institution.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership annual and major gift donors in order to develop relationships between them and the college
- Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, creativity and demonstrated ability for building relationships.
- Superior organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team. Diplomacy, tact, maturity, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are required characteristics.
- Ability to effectively utilize fundraising database software and tools.

Indiana Tech seeks a dynamic development professional to join a dedicated, energetic, and growing team. The Director of Institutional Advancement for Athletics will identify and cultivate gifts at the $1,000 level and above from individuals and corporations, support athletics annual giving activities, and lead athletics fundraising and alumni events. Regular, frequent travel is required. This position has a dotted line report to the Director of Athletics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiate contacts with potential leadership annual, sponsorship, and major gift donors
- Develop appropriate cultivation strategies for them, including working with volunteers
- Move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure
- Make solicitations when appropriate
- Maintain stewardship contacts with donors; adhere to the highest ethical standards; demonstrate empathetic disposition, and perseverance; reflect optimistic and positive attitude, and convey sensitivity to needs of the donors

Computer Skills:
Experience
Three or more years of progressive experience in higher education, non-profit fundraising, or a successful track record in external direct sales
Working Conditions
This position requires extensive travel in addition to time spent in a typical office setting. Frequent evenings and weekends are also required.
