      Under limited supervision of the Vice Provost-AVP for Global Affairs, the Director of International Student and Scholar Support (ISSS) in Global Affairs (Office of the Provost) is a leadership position with primary responsibility for the development, administration, and oversight of ISSS at USC. The position leads a team of advisors serving a community of international students enrolled at USC-Columbia (including School of Medicine-Columbia) and at USC Palmetto College campuses, as well as exchange scholars located at USC-Columbia. Responsible for managing university compliance with federal and state immigration regulations affecting international student enrollment and employment, including the SEVIS system and South Carolina laws; coordinates the delivery of internationally related student programming; and provides outreach to faculty and staff in support of international student matters. Maintains expert knowledge of the field. Serves as both the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) and the Responsible Officer (RO) for the DHS Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Engages in unit strategic planning and oversees ISSS team’s progress towards strategic goals.
