- Support the CTO in developing and implementing the district’s technology operational vision
- Lead and coordinate IT operational teams to ensure high availability, security, and reliability of
- Participate in technology budgeting and forecasting for operational services, assets, and
- Ensure efficient, secure operation of district networks, servers, telecommunications, and
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity systems.
- Manage vendor relationships and service agreements related to IT infrastructure and support.
- Oversee the helpdesk, desktop support, and audiovisual support teams to ensure responsive,
- Coordinate scheduling, resource allocation, and documentation practices to streamline support
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for system uptime, ticket resolution,
- Collaborate with the CTO on the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and
- Maintain compliance with federal and state technology regulations and audit requirements.
- Assist in incident response planning, reporting, and resolution.
- Serve as a liaison between IT and district departments to ensure alignment of technology
- Facilitate professional development and training for IT staff to promote continuous

Primary Purpose:
The Director of IT Operations provides strategic leadership and oversight for the planning,
implementation, and maintenance of technology infrastructure and support services across the district.
This position ensures the reliability, security, and performance of district-wide IT operations including
networking, systems administration, information systems, desktop services, and audio-visual support.
The Director collaborates with district leadership to support instructional and operational goals through
robust, innovative, and secure technology services.
Qualifications:
Education / Certification:
Bachelor’s degree required. Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft,)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong understanding of enterprise-level network architecture, cybersecurity practices, server
infrastructure, and data center management.
Proficiency in managing Microsoft Active Directory, VMware, backup systems, and cloud services
(Azure, Google Workspace, etc.).
Experience with SIS platforms, asset management systems, and ticketing systems.
Excellent leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
Effective interpersonal and communication abilities with both technical and non-technical
audiences.
Strong knowledge of K-12 educational technology practices and compliance requirements (FERPA,
CIPA, E-rate, etc.).
Experience/Other Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of IT leadership experience, preferably in a public school district or similar environment preferred.
Experience supervising multi-disciplinary technical teams.
Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects and support operations.
