Position Summary Director of Labor and Delivery - Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital, a leading healthcare institution dedicated to providing exceptional programs and services focused on the unique needs of women and newborn, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional who will continue the excellent service and quality standards as the Director of Labor and Delivery. The director of nursing operations works collaboratively with providers, team members, and other leaders to monitor and improve patient experience, quality, and value. Labor and Delivery Unit The function of Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies (WPHWB) Labor and Delivery Unit is based on the primary care model principles. As a Level III Perinatal Center, comprehensive patient centered obstetrical nursing care is provided for both low and high-risk families during the antenatal, labor and delivery and immediate postpartum periods. The Labor and Delivery Unit (L & D) is composed of twenty eight (28) Labor and Delivery Rooms (LDRs) that provide the expectant family with the opportunity to remain together as a unit during labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Qualifications Education/Training • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. • Graduate degree in Business or health-related field required. • It is required that candidate must hold either a baccalaureate or a higher degree in nursing. Licensure/Certification • Current professional license as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • National leadership board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) within 2 years. • May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population: o Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) o Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) o Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) o Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Experience Minimun of two (2) years as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery and one (1) year leadership experience in nursing.Education/Training • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. • Graduate degree in Business or health-related field required. • It is required that candidate must hold either a baccalaureate or a higher degree in nursing.
