- Ability to collaborate with and influence colleagues across other departments to meet the business challenges and overcome obstacles using a team-based approach
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related discipline with 8 or more years of related work experience.
- Advanced experience with mobile development languages, practices, tools, platforms, and product launches (stores).
- Proven ability to design, staff, and lead high-performing technical teams (internal or external) through agile, outcome-driven development.
- Strong understanding of modern cloud platforms, CI/CD, API architectures, and scalable code practices.
- Automated UI and API Testing experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software development with at least 3-5 years of mobile software experience.
- Experience developing software for medical devices or in a regulated industry (e.g. FDA, Aerospace, Defense) strongly preferred.
- Experience testing global solutions including translation and localization.

The Director of Mobile Applications will be a part of Abbott Heart Failure’s Digital Solutions organization driving the design and development of mobile applications in support of our medical devices and customers. This role has no initial direct reports, but you will be responsible for identifying the needs of your department, designing an organization to meet those needs, and working with our talent acquisition resources to staff your team.
This is a deeply technical and hands-on role which presents an exciting opportunity to use your experience and passion to create your team, design an application architecture, develop a culture of engineering excellence, and launch a product portfolio that delights our customers and saves lives through the proper use of our medical devices.
