      Director of Multilingual Learners Program Details of the position Direct Report of the Associate Superintendent of Academics Contract Days: 230 days Pay: $95,000- $120,000 Minimum Education and Training Master’s Degree in Education Administration At least 5 years of experience as a school principal or administrator or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job. Endorsement and/or certification in ESOL Other Qualifications and Skills Experience working with special programs Experience working with multilingual populations Engaging Innovative Team player General Statement of the Job Under limited supervision and in collaboration with the academic services team, this position will work to ensure that SDPC is serving our multilingual students and stakeholders well and that we are working to provide a quality education for all students. Day to Day Overview: Title III (Multilingual Learners Program and Immigrant Children) Youth Fund Managers Family and Community Involvement for MLP Population MLP Staffing/Professional Development Point of Contact for Refugees/SLIFE Students MLP Monitoring/ACCESS/WIDA/ELLEVATION Contact and Trainer Specific Duties and Responsibilities Title III (Multilingual Learners Program and Immigrant Children) Youth Fund Managers- coordinate, plan, budget, and create a logic model for the Title III Plan for SDPC. This plan should align with the federal stipulations and should be implemented and monitored with fidelity. Family and Community Involvement for MLP Population- This position should work with our community stakeholders to encourage and increase involvement with families of MLP students. MLP Staffing/Professional Development- this position should work with Human Resources to project and plan for the staffing of programs that serve our MLP students. This position will be responsible for ensuring all employees that work with this population have the correct certifications and are provided professional development to help them grow in their field. Point of Contact for Refugees/SLIFE Students- as new refugees and SLIFE students arrive to the district, this position will help with enrollment and facilitating learning plans for these students. This position will work on placement and proficiency based testing as well as working with schools to create individual learning plans for the students. This position will also engage with the community agencies that support this population. MLP Monitoring/ACCESS/WIDA/ELLEVATION Contact and Trainer- this position will stay up to date with all testing and monitoring requirements for the MLP population. Other Responsibilities Facilitate professional development on strategies to support MLP students in all courses. Coordinate with Adult Education and Parenting and Family Literacy, when needed, to support our MLP population. Coordinate and align with other federal and special programs. Support the work of the Academic Services team in creating a systemic approach to serving all students at the highest level.
