      Job Description

      Provide overall leadership and support to assigned franchisees to achieve short and long-term Company and Operations’ objectives. Develop and execute regional operations strategies and utilize knowledge of restaurant operations and staff resources to provide counsel, advice and assistance to franchisee owners/operators to improve sales, profits, operating standards and operating systems. Work closely with R&D, Marketing, Development and Supply Chain to ensure alignment of all International operations, marketing and product innovation programs and initiatives. Protect Dairy Queen trademarks.

      Principal Accountabilities:

      OPERATIONS

      • Achieve annual sales targets, revenue goals, new development goals and strategic operations initiatives as determined based on annual plan objectives. Leads conference calls, conducts periodic performance analysis and reporting, coaches franchisees to improve, demonstrates accountability, provide regular updates for MENA region to the VP’s including all supportive department updates.
      • Actively work with franchisees and provide necessary counsel and assistance to ensure the franchisee business plans include specific objectives and strategies in support of IDQ’s and the Countries’ Integrated Business Plans. Effectively utilize systems and schedules to monitor progress and goal achievement status. Monitor franchisee operations to position franchisees for consistent achievement of optimal capability level including development of specific goals by store. Maintain minimum capability levels of performance in primary market area assigned.
      • Represent Operations’ interest and input in interactions with the functional leaders for Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, R&D, Development and Training. Builds strong and open relationships with the leaders of all levels throughout IDQ, influencing thinking of other leaders on the achievability of their goals as they relate to and impact regional and international Operations, ensuring that operational impacts and complexities are taken into account.
      • Oversee and monitor consistent execution and delivery of strategies to ensure food safety, approved products, procedures compliance, menu compliance, trademark protection and IDQ standards.

      MARKETING

      • Provide Operations support to marketing by participating in: Franchisee Business Meeting Planning, Franchise Business Reviews, Calendar planning and review, annual planning and goal setting, product inventory tracking and in-market consulting. Oversee the coordination of Franchisee Business Meetings, scheduled calls with franchisees, verification of POP and LSM, coordinate product tastings and in-store sensory testing and provide support to franchisees. Support marketing calendar planning, sales goals, tracking results, inventories, sales mix, promotional performance and local relationships.
      • Influence the Franchisees’ leadership teams to work together to build the overall DQ Brand in MENA. Work closely with the appropriate team members of the Franchisees to derive the brand strategy and appropriately implement.

      SUPPLY CHAIN AND R&D

      • Provide appropriate operations support to supply chain and R&D. Responsible for the verification of approved products in restaurants, confirm that franchisees consistently provide forecasts to suppliers. Support R&D and Supply Chain on scheduled calls, report critical items regarding supply chain to appropriate stakeholders, verify recipes/preps and support all efforts that require in-market oversight.
      • Oversee and monitor consistent execution and delivery of company strategies, compliance with systems standards and trademark protection. Ensure compliance with IDQ policies and standards.

      DEVELOPMENT

      • Support development efforts in the market by reinforcing development processes, design reviews, proforma completion, pipeline updates and consulting on site administration needs.
      • Support Development on scheduled calls, sharing critical information with appropriate stakeholders and support all efforts that require in-market oversight.

      Qualifications

      Education and Qualifications:

      • B.A. or B.S. Degree in Business or related field, MBA preferred.
      • Must have at least 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in Operations, Marketing or related field in QSR, Fast Casual or Full-Service restaurant(s).
      • Experience working within a franchisor organization, preferably a QSR brand.
      • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships in a franchisor/franchisee environment.
      • Experience effectively managing professional level Operations staff.
      • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead geographically dispersed teams.
      • Demonstrated ability to work within diverse cultures, to work across global time zones and to effectively lead geographically dispersed teams.
      • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team, including Marketing, R&D, Operations, Training and Supply Chain, to complete projects on time.
      • In-depth knowledge and understanding of restaurant industry (QSR preferred) and of restaurant operations. Proficient knowledge of marketing, finance and training.
      • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and requests simultaneously, within an intense, deadline-driven environment.
      • Creative thinker who can quickly develop innovative ideas across a wide variety of business units.
      • Relationship building skills with the ability to create mutually beneficial relationships with both internal and external clients. Ability to collaborate with and influence others.
      • Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate overall operations and business strategies to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership teams and franchisee leadership groups/councils.
      • Well organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
      • Verbal, written and reading fluency in English.
      • Ability to travel internationally with no restrictions is required and is approximately 30%.
