      We are looking for a Director of Operations for the PolyMask division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading operations across US plants in Aurora, IL and Conover, NC and driving best practice and efficiency across the entire division to include our Italy manufacturing site north of Milan. The main objective will be continuous improvement in safety, quality and efficiency with an eye toward exceeding our sustainability metrics while enabling double-digit growth for the division. In this role, you will operate out of our Aurora, IL facility reporting to the President, Polymask business unit.



      The Director of Operations will be responsible for:

      • Coordinating the centralized supply chain team
      • Implementing standardized processes, instilling a metrics driven approach, and creating a culture of continuous improvement to enable future growth.
      • The position will have numerous direct reports to include safety, plant management, supply chain, capital projects/engineering, and quality management; indirect report includes operations manager Italy.



      The Director of Operations oversees all manufacturing operations to ensure production meets the required deadlines and quality standards completed within the operational budget. This includes improving operational results by identifying process improvement opportunities, developing solutions supported by detailed analysis, and implementing and sustaining results.



      As the Director of Operations, the primary role will be to support local plant management in delivering production, quality, and customer satisfaction goals, as well as continuous improvement, strategy and customer support throughout our operations. Responsibilities also include driving efficiency improvement and achieving sustainability metrics across PolyMask operations.



      Job Functions

      • Leading manufacturing plants and supply chain teams to exceed customer expectations and offering technical solutions cost effectively
      • Regional Leadership of Manufacturing teams to drive standardization of processes, KPIs, visual factory, and the use of Lean Tools to drive positive business results
      • Extensive manufacturing leadership experience, including site-level and multi-site network leadership experience, with functional expertise in Manufacturing: Multi-site operations, engineering, EH&S, Lean/continuous improvement
      • Organizational Development: Long term organizational capabilities and talent development
      • Recruitment and Retention: Ability to attract, train and develop key talent, particularly in the Plant Manager and Supply chain management roles and functions.
      • Quality: Product quality, supplier quality, and regulatory
      • Monitors and manages safety, quality, production, customer satisfaction and budget performance in order to exceed expectations.
      • Identifies, selects and develops talent in order to build a World-Class manufacturing organization.
      • Provides critical leadership for lean and continuous improvement including training and direction, leading to improved productivity, reduced inventories, and reduction in cycle time and waste.
      • Develops performance measures by identifying key business metrics, conducting benchmarking initiatives, and developing and calibrating analytical, estimating, forecasting, financial, and operational models.
      • Identifies opportunities for operational improvements by preparing cost/benefit analysis, developing business cases, and recommending process improvement priorities.
      • Works collaboratively with other departments to develop realistic operating budgets and deliver superior results.
      • Managing progress towards sustainability metrics to achieve Pregis wide 2K30 goals.



      Job Requirements

      • Education / Experience: Minimum level of education and experience required
      • Candidate must have a BS preferably in Engineering with manufacturing concentration.
      • Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of full-time relevant experience at a manufacturing company using Lean Manufacturing. Six sigma experience preferred.
      • Both water and solvent based coating experience
