    • License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

      Education Qualifications: Master's degree in education, social justice, or related field required.

      Experience Qualifications: Five years of public-school experience required, including experience in educational leadership with a focus on opportunity and access.

      Skills Qualifications: Dynamic and visionary leadership skills; a strong understanding of cultural competence and diversity, fairness and inclusion practices and an ability to successfully foster a culturally competent environment; ability to analyze data and to develop actionable strategies to address areas of need; ability to make sound and logical decisions based on data and evidence; excellent communication skills with the ability to effectuate change through writing and speaking; comfort in presenting to audiences of varying size and make-up; ability to effectively collaborate and work constructively across the district and at all levels of the organization; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster productive relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders; skilled at developing and exercising cross-functional influence; knowledge and understanding of public school system funding mechanisms and resource allocation methodologies; ability to develop, implement, and evaluate program goals; and ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement.

      Primary Responsibilities: Foster a district culture of inclusivity and fairness and create pathways for success in education through access and opportunity for each-and-every student

      1. Lead the charge in advocating for fairness, opportunity and access across all district educational programs, ensuring that every student is empowered to achieve their full potential, regardless of background or circumstance.

      2. Partner with district leaders to develop, implement and evaluate strategic plans that address identified disparities in access, opportunity, and outcomes.

      3. Cultivate an environment of cultural competence, diversity, and inclusion within the school system, providing training and resources to staff, students, and the community.

      4. Ensure the integration of “opportunity and access” principles into all policies, programs and processes.

      5. Utilize data analytics to identify and address disparities in student achievement, participation, and access to resources, guiding evidence-based decision-making.

      6. Foster strong partnerships with community organizations, parents, and stakeholders to enhance access and opportunity both within and beyond the school environment.

      7. Advocate for the strategic allocation of resources to support initiatives aimed at reducing opportunity gaps and enhancing educational access for all students.

      8. Collaborate and work cohesively with district leadership to develop and advocate for policies that promote access, fairness, opportunity and inclusivity throughout the district.

      9. Communicate effectively with audiences of varying size and make-up including presentations to district leadership, the Board of Education, internal team members and external stakeholders.

      10. Ensure that the Chief of Staff is apprised of significant changes, events and actions including projections, trends, and analyses of relevant issues.


      11. Perform other duties as assigned.

      Physical Demands:
      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
