Oversee Payroll Processing: Manage and supervise the payroll team and outsourced functions to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for all employees.
Ensure Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all payroll-related activities. Work with outsourced payroll company to ensure tax laws and rates are updated and maintained in the system of record.
System Implementation: When required, lead the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and integrated with other HR and financial systems.
Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze payroll reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior management
Policy Development: Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
Training and Development: Provide training and support to payroll staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Audits and Reconciliations: Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure payroll accuracy and identify and resolve discrepancies.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external payroll service providers and ensure their services meet organizational needs.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the payroll department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other organizational processes.

Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to various stakeholders.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience with Workday is strongly preferred.
Experience in a large, complex organization strongly preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in payroll management, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

The Director of Payroll is a vital role within Bell’s organization, responsible for overseeing and managing the payroll department. This position ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and effective coordination with other departments. The Payroll Director will play a key role in implementing payroll systems and processes that support the organization's strategic objectives.
The Director of Payroll will work in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment. This role requires occasional travel to external meetings. The individual must be able to handle high-pressure situations and manage competing priorities effectively.
