      What you will do

      As our Director of Responsible AI, you’ll play a critical leadership role in designing and scaling the frameworks that guide Amgen’s use of AI R&D, manufacturing, and commercial functions . This is more than a governance role — it’s a chance to architect ethical, high-performing AI systems in one of the world’s leading biotech companies.

      • Define and lead Amgen’s global Responsible AI strategy, ensuring safe, explainable, and compliant AI deployment at scale.
      • Build governance models and technical standards that shape how advanced AI—including generative and predictive generative, predictive and agentic AI solutions—is used across the business.
      • Collaborate with senior leaders in Data Science, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance to embed ethical AI practices into enterprise-wide workflows.
      • Serve as Amgen’s key interface to global regulators and AI policy influencers.
      • Develop and monitor AI performance metrics, risk models, and incident response frameworks to ensure trust and transparency in every model we deploy.

      What we expect of you

      We’re looking for a bold, visionary leader with deep technical fluency and a passion for shaping the future of AI. You combine strategic insight with hands-on understanding of real-world AI systems—and know how to lead teams to deliver both.

      • Advanced degree (PhD, MSc, or equivalent) in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
      • 10+ years of experience in AI, data governance, or AI-related compliance roles, including 6+ years in leadership positions.
      • Deep expertise in AI/ML models, including generative AI, and strong knowledge of global AI regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, FDA AI guidance).
      • Track record of building AI governance frameworks, from policy to implementation.
      • Experience leading cross-functional programs and engaging with regulators or industry groups on tech ethics and compliance.
      • Strategic thinker, strong communicator, and influential leader who thrives in complexity and ambiguity.

      195,950.00 USD - 248,062.00 USD
