Establish goals and monitor the performance of the roasting facility
Ensure compliance with food and safety regulations and maintain proper training and credentials for all employees
Serve as the on-site FSMA-trained company representative
Guarantee our coffee meets all quality standards
Participate in QA cuppings of pre-shipment and arrival samples of green coffee and facility-roasted goods to ensure it meets DB’s quality standards
Assist facilities in making decisions regarding maintenance planning and strategies
Collaborates cross-departmentally to ensure that organizational goals regarding safety, efficiency, quality, and profitability are met
Verify completion of sanitization and housekeeping logbooks
Implement internal training and development plans for all new staff
Continued education of coffee and roasting
Ensure equipment is operating optimally; forecast future equipment needs
Provide direct oversight of daily operations and safety protocols
Oversee all roasting and packaging processes, implementing system and process improvements, as needed
Ensure schedules and timetables are outlined and met
Ensures that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately
Monitor daily coffee production and ensure it meets the demands of vendor orders
Verify outbound orders are accurately produced and shipped to meet DC order dates
Maintain various relationships with outside vendors that are key to keeping the plant running smoothly and efficiently
Facilitate the employee lifecycle and manage a team of employees
Provide oversight and consultation for all roasting-related personnel, equipment, and facilities
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or 4 years of equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of Roasting and Packaging experience
An additional 2+ years of leadership experience
Knowledge of roasting and packaging equipment
Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and distribution
Proficient with Excel and Google Suite
Experienced and proficient with ERP systems; Microsoft D365
Ability to maintain deadlines
SCA Sensory certificate, preferred
SCA Roasting credentials, preferred
This position requires driving, when necessary
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

Position Overview
The Director of Roasting ensures the lifeblood of Dutch Bros (our coffee production!) is operating optimally. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Dutch Bros Roasting Facility, including hiring, training, and managing a robust team of individuals. They guarantee processes and procedures for food safety and employee safety are being followed at all times. It is essential that they foster good communications with partnering departments and entities. The Director of Roasting participates in strategic planning regarding future growth and expansion.

Compensation:
$126,794.19 - $146,989.22
