      Hotel Director of Sales - Convention Center Property

      Job Description:

      As the Hotel Director of Sales for our convention center property, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and ensuring the success of our sales strategies. You will lead a talented sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration to achieve and exceed targets. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement comprehensive sales plans tailored to attract a diverse range of clientele to our convention center and hotel facilities.


      Responsibilities:

      1. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals for the convention center property.
      2. Lead and motivate a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to maximize their potential.
      3. Identify and cultivate relationships with key clients, including corporate accounts, event planners, and industry partners, to generate new business and secure repeat bookings.
      4. Collaborate closely with the marketing department to create compelling promotional materials and campaigns that showcase our facilities and services.
      5. Conduct regular market analysis and stay abreast of industry trends to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
      6. Manage the sales budget effectively, monitoring expenses and ROI to ensure optimal resource allocation.
      7. Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote our brand and expand our reach.
      8. Oversee the negotiation and execution of contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and aligned with company policies.
      9. Work closely with other departments, including event planning, catering, and operations, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of events.
      10. Uphold the highest customer service standards, ensuring all guests receive exceptional treatment and personalized attention.


      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
      • Previous experience working in a large convention center property.
      • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel sales, with at least two years in a leadership role overseeing a sales team.
      • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive market.
      • Strong leadership skills can inspire and motivate a team towards shared goals.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport and establishing trust with clients and colleagues.
      • Strategic thinker who can analyze data, identify trends, and develop innovative sales strategies.
      • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sales management software (e.g., Salesforce).
      • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and travel as needed.
