      Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

      Director Service Line provides strategic, administrative, and financial leadership over Service Line. Responsibilities include strategic planning, legal and regulatory compliance, financial management, relationship development, operations and human resource management for assigned service line. May work in a matrixed management relationship with physician leaders and administrative leaders to assist in the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan and marketing strategy. The Director facilitates the planning, organization, implementation and control of the resources needed for optimal performance of the inpatient or outpatient operations in coordination with other ministry leaders, clinicians, physicians, and other support teammates. As needed, works with other system leaders to improve accessibility and coordination of care. Stay current with reimbursement changes impacting service line and adjust services/workflows to meet these demands. The position will serve as the community facing leader. Establish key relationships to continue to grow market share.

      Essential Job Functions

      • Develop and lead teams to implement the annual business plan/budget including financial, marketing, clinical, operational, capital, teammate engagement and patient (customer) experience, objectives, which align with the corporate system-wide mission, goals and strategy.

      • Develop and implement strategies to effectively meet system quality initiatives. Development of solid benchmark data for comparison purposes. Develop standards of quality care and communicate expectations to all teammates. Help maintain and improve quality by objectively assessing performance improvement data and implementing appropriate solutions. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements relative to the service line.

      • Monitor patient (customer) experience results. Develop plans to improve patient experience/engagement as appropriate. Develop future needs/expectations and plans, including marketing/communication strategies, as appropriate. Provide leadership on employee engagement and drive improvement with team. Implement strategies to develop teammates and improve and/or maintain high levels of teammate engagement.

      • Maintain a three-year workforce plan including provider need and succession planning in coordination with operational leaders. Recruit and replace physicians and staff members. Implement growth initiatives supporting the system strategic plan.

      • Ensure appropriate pricing of services, maximize reimbursement with knowledge of payor mix; Ensure accurate recording of services rendered and related charges.


      Education
      Bachelors, Business Administration, Health Management, or related (required)
      Masters, Business, Health Administration, or related (preferred)

      Work Experience
      5 years' progressive management experience, including supervisory experience, with key decision-making abilities (required)
      3 years' experience in a healthcare related fast-paced field (preferred)
