      As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the RCORT, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

      Corporate Technology (CT) is responsible for global technology functions including Legal, Compliance, Controls, Finance, Liquidity, Internal Audit, Risk, and Reference Data. The organization develops and executes Global Technology's multi-year roadmap to build scalable infrastructure supporting business initiatives, as well as positioning the firm effectively for responding to an external regulatory environment.

      Regulatory, Controls & Op Risk Technology (RCORT) is part of Corporate Technology, which designs and develops business products required to identify and manage JPMC’s regulatory obligations and associated firm policies, a control environment designed to manage compliance and operational risks across all Lines of Business (LOBs) and Corporate Functions and the calculation of Regulatory Capital and projection of Operational Risk Losses.

      Job responsibilities

      • Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
      • Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
      • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
      • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
      • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
      • Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

      Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

      • Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
      • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists and managing large teams globally
      • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
      • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
      • Practical cloud native experience
      • Deepened understanding of using techniques to creative innovative solutions to roadblocks (e.g., design thinking, continuous improvement, rapid prototyping, etc.)
      • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

      Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

      • Experience working at code level
