- Provide leadership and coordination for designing, developing, executing, assessing, and revising district-wide strategic initiatives. Support communication efforts related to long-term planning and district initiatives, with a focus on transparency and building public trust.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or other related field
- Valid CTE certification
- Ability to design, develop, implement, and assess strategic planning tools
- Ability to work with administrators, teachers, and general public
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written language for a variety of audiences, occasions, and purposes
- Ability to organize information and establish procedures for planning districtwide training
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge of media relations and public relations functions.
- Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing.
- 3 years' experience as a classroom teacher
- 3 years' experience in a leadership role
- Works closely with the Superintendent to identify, develop and execute special projects and district-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate with district leadership, staff, and stakeholders to align initiatives with the district’s mission, vision, and long-range goals.
- Consult with campus principals and their staff regarding development, monitoring, and evaluation of strategic projects and efforts to ensure alignment with district improvement.
- Develop and update methods, procedures, plans, schedules, and other strategic planning resource materials to assist district leadership in developing and implementing emerging strategic initiatives and activities to match organizational needs and directions.
- Serve as a key liaison for long-range planning efforts, ensuring community input and transparency in the process.
- Study district practices designed to improve educational outcomes, partnerships, and communication measures and make recommendations for increased effectiveness.
- Work collaboratively with the communications department to design, modify, and maintain web-based planning documents and district publications.
- Oversee and monitor strategic initiative timelines, schedules, and improvement plan progress toward realization of district goals and provide progress reports to the superintendent and district leadership.
- Assist the Superintendent in developing and publicizing reports related to the state of the district including performance, district goals, and objectives.
- Strengthen engagement with the entire Flour Bluff ISD community - Flour Bluff, Padre Island, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, and Corpus Christi Army Depot.
- Assist in developing and executing communication strategies related to district strategic initiatives including bond planning and projects, community partners, governmental agencies, and the workforce.
- Demonstrate awareness of district-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs, including speaking at civic organization meetings and making presentations.
- Ensure communication of strategic initiatives is in alignment across all district platforms and audiences.
- Conduct training and informational meetings regarding district strategic initiatives for identified stakeholders.
- Strengthen and develop partnerships with local businesses, organizations, higher level institutes, and government agencies to connect students with real-world experience and hands-on learning opportunities.
- Assist the CTE Department in planning student internships, practicums, and CCMR completion.
- Develop strategies to communicate and cascade school reform initiatives throughout the district using various media.
- Manage data collection and reporting related to strategic initiatives, long-range planning, and bond projects.
- Work collaboratively with the communications office to develop and implement Flour Bluff ISD branding policies.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policies.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
