      POSITION: Director of Strategy

      LOCATION: DSST: Home Office located in Denver, CO

      SALARY: $96,300 - $116,400 based on aligned years of experience up to 10 years. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver!

      STATUS: Full time, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position

      START: July 14, 2025

      KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

      DSST seeks a remarkable leader with a successful track record of leading at the systems-level. The Director of Strategy plays an integral role in the implementation of DSST’s Strategic Plan and build the strategic capacity of the organization writ large. In driving the definition and implementation of a vision and framework for strong strategic planning, the Director of Strategy will create the conditions for DSST to achieve its network report card results. Reporting to DSST’s Head of Strategy, this leader will lead complex organizational change while fostering highly collaborative and cross functional partnerships to advance outcomes for all students at DSST.

      Essential Functions:

      • Network Planning: Drive the vision and implementation of a network strategic planning (60%):

        • Collaborate with the President, Head of Strategy, and the strategy department to refine the framework, definitions and operational structure to drive multi-year and annual strategic planning.

        • Own the implementation of network strategic planning, overseeing both network and school planning through cross-functional leadership and support for Home Office Leaders and School Leaders.

        • Own and drive the planning required to meet district and state compliance.

        • Lead change management and communication efforts to support the implementation of strategic initiatives in pursuit of Big 5 Goals.

      • Systems for communication and alignment: Own the design and implementation of a network wide Arc of the Year and other relevant systems for alignment across home office and schools.

        • Refine the vision for Arc of the Year system to collect and collaborate across teams to define the core workstreams &

      • Special Projects (10%)

        • Own and drive special projects that build the organization’s strategic capacity and/or create conditions for current or future impact, as assigned.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor's Degree

      • At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a school or charter management organization

      • 7+ Years of Professional Experience in Education

      • At least 2+ years of previous school leadership required, ideally in a high performing school context

      • Proven track record of driving to results in content area(s)

      • Evidence of developing and executing against a strategy with strong results

      • Demonstrated proficiency in leading through change, executing on major initiatives, and leading cross-departmental work

      • Demonstrated excellence in leading professional development

      • Demonstrated experience in coaching and development of leaders

      • An unwavering belief that all students can succeed in high school, reach their most ambitious post-secondary goals, and lead exemplary lives

      • Desire to personally professionally grow in their practice of becoming an anti-racist educator

      • Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve

      IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

      • Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students

      • Master’s degree in Education field preferred
