- The Director of Student Life works as a member of the Division of Student Affairs, reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Students. The Director is responsible for the overall administration and leadership of the Student Life program.
- This position requires a professional appearance and demeanor as well as strong communication skills. High energy and a positive approach to working with students and colleagues is a must. The individual must be customer service oriented and must work well in a team context.
- The Director of Student Life is required to live within a 10-mile radius of campus.
- Work directly with the Dean of Students and the Associate Dean of Students in implementing the overall Student Life program of the College.
- Promote effective relationships and work collaboratively with all departments and programs of the College, including academic departments, the athletic department, intramurals, Health and Wellness and residence life.
- Provide leadership in the development of multicultural and diversity-based programs.
- Promote and support cultural diversity programs that enhance the multicultural experiences of students, faculty and staff.
- Plan, facilitate and promote an effective and comprehensive Student Life program in support of student academic success.
- Serve as the Advisor to the Student Government Association.
- Provide oversight and assistance to all the College’s various student clubs and organizations to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assume responsibility for all fiscal areas of the department including revenue, expenditures, budget planning/management and detailed record keeping.
- Supervise the Student Life staff in all areas including training, responsibilities, scheduling and leave.
- Manage and direct operations of the Student Center, Student Life office and Game Room. Provide cooperation and assistance with the overall management of other Student Center operations.
- Provide Texan Card student ID services and oversee maintenance of student ID printer.
- Manage and maintain the College’s Lost and Found department.
- Plan and assess in accordance with the College’s strategic planning initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
