Job Description:
The Director of Supplier Performance is responsible for managing our Supplier Performance Team and our existing supplier’s business planning and performance, while maintaining a healthy financial position for Johnson Brothers and our supplier partners. They work as a conduit between supplier and our branches across the U.S.
Primary Responsibilities
• Overall
a. Drives results, develops people, and collaborates with commercial leadership to deliver and execute the annual operating plan and supplier KPIs.
• Culture/Structure/People
a. Instills passion for wine and spirits in others.
b. Build a culture of execution through ensuring a highly engaged and high performing team.
c. Drive a continuous training culture to retain and develop existing talent.
d. Establish/maintain accountability standards for sales teams, continuously review structure, optimize route to market, and remain relevant with customers and suppliers.
• Strategy
a. Oversee Supplier(s) Planning Process:
i. Develop and Plan tactical overlays against supplier strategies to engage with Johnson Brothers Leadership.
ii. Build market execution plans
1. Including measurable goals by geography, channel, customer, and brand.
2. Integrate plan to drive transformational priorities.
b. Manage LMF and Tactical Budgets, while optimizing price and promotion strategies.
c. Ensures Johnson Brothers exceeds their allocated fair share of luxury items.
• Customer Development and Performance
a. Assess Supplier(s), Brand and Category health using syndicated data; including Nielsen, IRI, DISCUS, Etc.
b. Overall management of profitability for supplier and distributor alike.
c. Assist with RFP and new supplier acquisitions.
d. Run standard and ad hoc reports for business needs.
e. Coordinate cadenced business reviews and planning meetings with supplier(s) leadership.
f. Collaborates with suppliers to build comprehensive training programs, designed to educate and enhance Johnson Brothers sales personnel capabilities.
g. Ensures all supplier and Johnson Brothers corporate compliance measures are in place and being followed pertaining to designated portfolio(s).
h. Work with the purchasing department to ensure contractual obligations and asks are being adhered to, in conjunction, maintaining healthy inventory levels for internal purposes.
i. Oversight to branch forecasting using Logility.
j. Plans and executes market surveys upon supplier(s) desired cadence across Johnson Brothers network.
• Business Planning and Category Management
a. In-depth analysis of activities by channel, geography, customer and brand.
b. Identifying opportunities in portfolio and developing strategies to close those gaps.
• Programing and Execution
a. Follow Supplier(s) lead on innovation planning within assigned brands including programming, goal setting, inventory management, selling tools, kickoff meeting, training, tracking, etc.
b. Communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio priorities and key execution metrics by channel, geography, customer and brand across entire selling Johnson Brothers Network to achieve internal alignment.
c. Measure and update against execution, brand standards, innovation, channel & other KPI’s and continually identify strategic gaps in plan.
i. Use internal tracking of goals including displays, feature ads, pricing, distribution, visibility, accounts sold, menus, drink features, etc. to deliver above.

Minimum Qualifications
• Education
o Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field required.
Or
o An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience
o Minimum 5 years Industry experience, CPG or retail industry, shopper/consumer insights and marketing, brand/supplier management experience. Previous experience calling on beverage alcohol category buyers in wine, spirits or beer either at key customer or control board level. Demonstrated experience coaching and leading teams required
