- Deep understanding of core supply chain functions: production planning, logistics, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
- Strategic supply chain planning: Ability to develop and implement long-term plans optimizing efficiency, cost, and responsiveness across the entire supply chain.
- Proven track record in reducing lead times and inventory while enhancing overall operational performance and fulfillment.
- Expand and implement internal inventory management processes and controls through improved usage of the ERP system, Advanced Planning system and business intelligence tools to improve inventory turns, inventory accuracy, and minimize excess/obsolete material. Own and manage inventory performance and utilization.
- Experience in effectively managing the supply chain for a high mix, high volume product lines within a rapidly growing business environment, with a track record of successfully integrating 30% or more new products annually into the supply chain.
- Risk management: Proactive identification and mitigation of potential supply chain disruptions.
- Technology adoption: Understanding of how supply chain technology such as automation, data analytics, and cloud computing can transform supply chain operations.
- Mastery of ERP and MPS Systems: In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Master Production Planning (MPS) systems and their application within supply chain management. Utilize ERP/MPS data to drive strategic decision-making, optimize inventory management, and improve overall supply chain effectiveness.
- Data Analytics & Metrics: Ability to leverage data analytics to measure performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong financial understanding: Ability to analyze supply chain costs, implement cost-saving initiatives, and contribute to overall business profitability.
- Strategic thinking & planning: Translate company goals into actionable supply chain strategies that align with broader business objectives.
- A keen ability to analyze complex situations, identify solutions, and make sound decisions in a timely manner.
- Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience building and leading high-performing supply chain teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Effectively communicate and collaborate with Brand, Sales, Finance, Digital Transformation, and broader Operations teams.
- Develop, implement, and improve supply chain strategies for all purchased materials and related supply chain processes to ensure on-time delivery to customers at best cost and utilization of inventory. Assess global and industry best practices to develop and execute our supply chain roadmap.
- Responsible for managing and continually evolving the Monthly SI&OP processes in collaboration with Sales, Brand, Product Development, Manufacturing, Finance, and Sourcing.
- Champion strategic initiatives including new product introductions, business process improvement, and company infrastructure improvement.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Product Development, to align supply chain strategies with overall business goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or other related degree required. MBA preferred.
- 9-10 years domestic and international supply chain management experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment is required.
- Required experience in both fabricated metal products and consumer goods.
- Experience managing forecasting and production planning (SI&OP).
- Direct experience expanding the usage of the ERP/MPS for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Direct experience using Planetogether APS Software and Syspro ERP Software.
- Demonstrated understanding of smart warehousing, efficient spare parts management, autonomous and B2C & B2B logistics, prescriptive supply chain analytics, and digital supply chain enablers.
- Direct experience in managing NPI project teams.
- Knowledge of Lean principals as well as demonstrated Lean coaching and mentoring capability.
- Demonstrated project management experience especially in areas of part creation, supplier qualification, material cost reduction, and inventory optimization.
- Strong interpersonal skills in the areas of verbal and written communications, customer focus, professionalism, negotiating, coaching, and team building.
- Excellent communication skills in a cross functional workplace.
- Excellent problem identification and problem solving skills utilizing collaborative techniques and demonstrating a relentless pursuit of continual improvement.
- Working Environment: Office Position in a manufacturing environment
- Physical Demands: Lifting up to 25 lbs., sitting and talking on the phone and computer for long periods of time.
- Travel Requirements: As needed, less than 5% of the time.
