- Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead the network and production systems operations strategy aligned with business objectives, especially those tied to computer vision hardware performance in dynamic, real-world environments.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers, systems engineers, and automation developers, fostering growth in hands-on AI & robotics operations.
- Network Performance & Optimization: Conduct analysis and implement improvements to maintain optimal health and efficiency of field-deployed networks and production systems, distributed across sites throughout the world.
- Alerting & Monitoring: Proven hands-on experience building and maintaining large-scale, production-grade alerting and monitoring systems, especially those supporting edge AI and robotics systems.
- Incident Management: Establish and manage an effective incident response protocol, ensuring rapid response and resolution of issues across our infrastructure.
- Fleet Management: Implement and manage solutions for monitoring, deploying, and maintaining hardware across diverse environments (e.g., warehouses, industrial sites, parking garages, etc.).
- Capacity Planning & Scaling: Collaborate with technical and business teams to plan and implement scaling for both network and production infrastructure to support increasing hardware deployment footprints.
- Budget Management: Manage the operational budget, making cost-effective decisions on hardware, field tools, and technology investments.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with network and hardware vendors, negotiate SLAs, and manage performance, with a focus on suppliers of computer vision components, edge compute, and connectivity solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and implement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, uptime, and reliability across our infrastructure.
- Travel: Some travel required for site launches, customer visits, and hardware deployments. (Up to 25%)
- 10+ years of experience in network or production systems operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in deploying and operating real-world computer vision or robotics systems, including knowledge of Linux systems, network protocols, and edge compute concepts.
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale field deployments and operational support for distributed hardware.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing technical operations teams in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent project management and prioritization skills, especially across field engineering, infrastructure deployment, and support.
- Clear communicator with the ability to explain highly technical topics to non-technical stakeholders, including external partners and customers.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly valued.
- Experience in a high-growth or technology-driven company.
