      Director, Technical Services
      Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303
      $67.52 - $101.28 hour - Full Time, Days. 40 hours a week.

      Boulder Community Health (BCH) is looking for a dynamic service-oriented Director of Technical Services capable of aligning IT strategy with the business needs and has the background to support a broad range of technical infrastructure and services with a passionate focus on our internal customers and patients.

      Qualifications
      •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or business related field required
      •Master’s degree in business or technology related field preferred
      •Healthcare IT related certifications preferred
      •Formal leadership and/or technical training is preferred
      •Experience working in healthcare preferred, especially a health system with hospitals and clinics
      •Valid Colorado driver’s license required
      •Five (5) years in a supervisory or management level position preferably in a healthcare setting
      •Three (3) years of experience implementing and maintaining desktop computers, servers, storage, telecommunications and network equipment is required.
      •Three (3) years of experience in managing an IT Service Desk experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
      •Experience working with or directly managing biomedical equipment and medical engineering staff is preferred.

      Responsibilities
      •Organizational IT Leadership
      •Sets direction for overall technology vision of the organization.
      •Stays connected to the mission of the organization and makes all IT decisions within this context.
      •Plans and manages the technical, biomedical, data, and voice infrastructure including offsite data centers and all hardware and software components.
      •Maintains a customer-centered focus to provide the best experience for our end users and patients. Ensures high quality customer service through the Service Desk. Regularly reviews and publishes quality metrics related to all areas of responsibility, especially the Service Desk.
      •Acts as an agent for progressive change within the organization by overseeing the implementation and improvement of IT systems that positively impact the quality of patient care, improve business efficiency, and improve end user satisfaction.
      •Maintains expert knowledge through reading of industry publications, engagement in professional organizations, and continuing education.
      •Oversees information security in collaboration with the vCISO to protect the privacy of our patients and protect confidential information. Advises the CIO and AVP of the status of hospital compliance regarding patient electronic protected health information and develops or supervises the development of all department policies and procedures relating to technology.
      •Develops departmental capital and operating budget and ensures department operates within budget. Regularly audits contracts and budgets to regularly reduce expenses.
      •Assists hospital departments in evaluating software and hardware needs. Acts as a trusted advisor to all departments to assist in their technology needs.
      •Participates in IT Management on-call rotation for support of hospital systems
      •Develops, maintains and ensures adherence to hospital business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
      •Represents department on committees and task forces as needed.

      •Team Leadership
      •Provides direction to the Technical Services team that is aligned with department and organizational goals.
      •Leads regular team meetings to foster collaboration and provide direction to team.
      •Manages all technical services functions; directs, supervises, orients/trains and evaluates staff and conducts personnel actions.

      •Project Leadership
      •Collaborates with the Directors of, Business Applications, Clinical Informatics and Applications, vCISO, and Chief Medical Informatics Officers to provide leadership on projects that contribute to hospital goals of quality patient care, cost containment, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
      •Monitors project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful completion of initiatives and strategic goals. Works in collaboration with the Project Management Office as a partner in some projects while taking formal leadership in many technical projects.
      •Participates as a leader in the change management process to enable IT change while minimizing adverse consequences.
      •Plans and adheres to departmental budget to minimize variance and unbudgeted expenses. Acts as a responsible steward of hospital finances.
