      The Director of Technical Architecture will be joining the Architecture, Infrastructure, Data & Analytics (AIDA) team within Data & Technology (D&T), reporting to the Vice President, Enterprise Architecture. You will collaborate with teams across OMERS and Oxford to drive the design and implementation of the firms’ overall technical architecture across a variety of domains. The incumbent will be accountable for enabling teams within our federated delivery model with the right advice that will allow them to design solutions that implement key technologies in a consistent fashion.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Derive the future-state technology architecture with EA peers to analyze business strategy and trends, as well as change requirements in other EA viewpoints (such as business, information and solution); remedy deficiencies in the current-state technologies to derive the future-state technology architecture.

      • Lead and collaborate to deliver business value by championing and supporting EA activities that guide the development and management of technical and infrastructure solutions.

      • Define and maintain technical standards, principles, patterns and best practices for the company's technology stack.

      • Collaborate with engineering teams and other technical practitioners to design technical solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and meet business requirements.

      • Analyze and evaluate technologies by providing leadership, analysis and design to develop target-state guidance for evolving the technical infrastructure across the enterprise; guide technology investment decisions in order to enable business strategies.

      • Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with complex projects.

      • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that technical solutions are aligned with business objectives.

      • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, and guidelines across key technical domains.

      Requirements:

      • A University degree or post-graduate in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or other quantitative disciple and/or combination of equivalent training, education and experience is required

      • 10+ years of progressive experience in designing, building, testing and deploying technical solutions.

      • 5+ years of experience as an architect with an emphasis on designing technical solutions for enterprise consumption.

      • An outcome oriented, systems thinking approach to solving sophisticated and often ambiguous problems to generate reusable solutions.

      • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage technologists, either directly or indirectly.

      • Expertise in designing and implementing complex technical solutions.

      • Proficiency in articulating technical architectures across one or more of the following domains: security, infrastructure, cloud, data, integration and application.

      • Experience working on technology solutions in the financial services industry; exposure to technology solutions across one or more of pensions, investments, corporate functions and real estate is a nice-to-have.

      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

      • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and mitigate technical risks.

      • Experience in project management and agile methodologies.
