- Ensure operational excellence through the establishment and utilization of robust processes, key performance indicators, and carrier scorecards to drive accountability and results.
- Proactively manage to a set operating budget and identify areas of opportunity for cost management, continuous improvement, and long-range network optimization.
- Analyze and assess industry benchmarking and market dynamics to ensure our Gap Inc. network is best in class.
- Influence and implement supply chain network strategies that enhance operational capabilities, driving synergies across business units and maximizing profitability.
- Execute strategic carrier contracts supporting quality operating performance and ensuring strategic suppler relationship management.
- Establish cross functional relationships collaborating across the Gap Inc Supply Chain.
- Partner with GapTech to deliver EDI compliance and best in class visibility performance while staying close to technology trends and new capabilities to drive continuous improvement in transportation systems.
- Ensure all logistics policies, procedures, and operations (SOPs) are in compliance with all applicable laws and statutory regulations.
- Resolve service failures and implement processes for continuous improvement.
- Identify areas of opportunities to cut cost without jeopardizing service.
- Leverage professional partnerships (internal & external) to enhance cross-functional workflow, decision-making, and collaboration.
- Recruit, develop and sustain a high-performance organization. Provide continued coaching, development, and growth of employees in support of current operational objectives and future succession requirements.
- 10+ years of Transportation operations experience including 5+ years in Inbound Transportation Operations.
- 7+ years experience leading others.
- Experience managing Operational P&L/ Budget with detailed knowledge of financial planning, P&L analysis, and margin improvement.
- Experience in managing external providers and developing and executing Supplier Relationship models.
- Can effectively drive continuous improvement in cost and service metrics across transportation networks.
- Experience in developing and managing business continuity plans to counter geo-political uncertainty across the domestic linehaul network.
- Ability to develop high-performing leaders and teams.
- Knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations impacting logistics.
- Global experience in working across cultures and regions outside of the United States.
- Travel required to manage/support the operations as required.
- Required to support/ work non-traditional hours (when applicable) to support 24x7 operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Sr. Director, International Inbound and Linehaul Operations, the Director, Inbound Operations is responsible for the operational oversight – including service and budget performance – for Ocean and Air Operations, NA Terminal and Port Drayage, NA Transload Operations, and Global Franchise Operations in support of all Gap Inc. brands and channels. This role includes the management of third-party carrier and facility relationships to deliver Gap Inc. managed freight after the handover from origin load ports to destination ports and into our NA Distribution Campuses and global Franchise Turnover points.
This is an onsite role based in our transportation hub in Northern Kentucky (Cincinnati area) and is required to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet or exceed performance requirements in the areas of service and cost – while delivering strategic speed and dynamic flexibility. This leader will influence strategy, annual operating plans, and long-range planning in support of the Sr. Director, International Inbound and Linehaul Operations.What You'll Do
