POSITION PROPERTIES Position Title Director of Workforce Development Schedule / Grade Min/Max Job Code FLSA Exempt Calendar ADSUP-S Benefits Eligible Contract Type ADMIN Bargaining Unit None Revised Date 4/29/2024 PURPOSE The Workforce Development Director will provide leadership for district workforce development initiatives, coordinate services, and support the Transition coordinator, Work Experience Coordinators (WECs), MO Options Coordinator, and Career Counselors to enhance work-based learning programs and post-secondary transition outcomes for special education and regular education scholars. The Director will collaborate with administration, build partnerships, provide leadership, and oversee program development and implementation to maximize scholar success and align with the Continuous School Improvement Plan. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Leadership and Support: Lead in district workforce development initiatives. Support WECs, MO Options Coordinator, and Career Counselors in implementing work-based learning programs, internships, and I-CAP development for all high schools. Provide district-wide support to improve post-secondary transition outcomes for scholars, focusing on job placement. Liaison and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between central office, school administration, and WECs, MO Options Coordinator, and Career Counselors to enhance scholar success and align with district goals. Collaborate with administration to identify scholars at risk of disengagement or dropout, and work with building staff to enroll them in relevant programs. Programming and Development: Develop programs for high school dropouts seeking to return and graduate, emphasizing goal setting and career planning. Create new opportunities for scholars to participate in work-based learning and alternative graduation programs and support existing workforce develop work. Promotion and Recruitment: Work closely with building staff and WECs to promote work-based learning programs and recruit special education scholars. Coordinate efforts to facilitate special education scholars' participation in programs to enhance career readiness and post-secondary outcomes. Partnerships and Networking: Establish partnerships to provide scholars with internships and employment opportunities. Develop and maintain MOUs with partners involved in work-based learning experiences. Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Reports To: Chief Academic Officer Supervises: N/A QUALIFICATIONS Minimum: Must possess a bachelor’s degree in related field, three years of directly related experience and three years of supervisory experience required. Preferred: Master’s degree in a closely related field of study preferred. 8 years of experience preferred. SALARY Salary Range: $112,000-$159,600 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
