      The Director, Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS), provides leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for the university’s research functions and initiatives. Reporting to the Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness, this role oversees all aspects of the ORS, promoting excellence in research and ensuring research ethics, compliance, and integrity across the university.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      Leadership and Strategic Planning

      • In collaboration with university executives and academic leaders, develop and implement a strategic plan for the ORS.
      • Oversee the operations of the ORS, including supervision of staff, resource allocation, and project management.
      • Champion a culture of excellence and innovation in all matters pertaining to research and scholarship across the university.

      Doctoral Research, Research Curricula, & Faculty Support

      • Provide oversight and leadership for the university’s doctoral models (dissertation, capstone, applied improvement project, etc.) and all aspects of the advanced doctoral phase of doctoral programs.
      • Oversee development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement for shared research curriculum including doctoral research seminars (i.e., virtual research residencies).
      • Promote an evaluative culture using multiple sources of qualitative and quantitative data to continuously improve doctoral research, research curriculum, and teaching/mentoring.
      • In collaboration with the deans, faculty directors, and Sr. Academic Director of Faculty Affairs, establish expectations for faculty teaching or mentoring in the advanced doctoral phase and promote excellence for doctoral faculty.

      Faculty Research and Scholarship

      • Develop, administer, and evaluate initiatives that promote faculty research and scholarship to extend the university’s external presence and support faculty career pathways.
      • Promote and facilitate interdisciplinary research collaboration among faculty.
      • Contribute to co-curricular leadership by designing opportunities for faculty-student research collaboration.

      Research Integrity and Compliance

      • Provide leadership and oversight for the university’s research integrity and compliance unit.
      • Ensure adherence to ethical research standards and federal regulations regarding research.
      • Oversee the Institutional Review Board (IRB).


      Job Skills:

      • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build build relationships with faculty, students, staff, and stakeholders.
      • Exceptional understanding of research methodologies, research ethics, and applicable laws.
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Strong computer and technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications; comfort learning new technologies.


      Work Experience:

      • Minimum of 7 years of experience in higher education at a doctoral granting institution, including curriculum development, preferably in an online environment. Program leadership preferred.
      • Experience mentoring doctoral learners in the advanced doctoral phase of their program (e.g., dissertation, capstone).
      • Strong record of research and scholarship in a relevant discipline.


      Education:

      • Doctorate in business, technology, psychology, counseling, education, human services, health sciences, or closely related field with an emphasis on quantitative or qualitative research required
      • All degrees must be conferred from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.


      Certificates, licenses and registrations:

      • Certified IRB Professional (CIP) preferred.


      Other:

      • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. Travel may involve plane, car, or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel for this role is estimated 10-20%.
      • Ability to work onsite in a Corporate location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
      • If off-site or hybrid role, must have access to work in a setting which enables meeting all requirements of the rule (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.

      • Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem-solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with coworkers.
      • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant. Accommodations related to schedule may be considered.

      $116,300.00 - $174,500.00 - Salary
