- University degree, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field
- A minimum of 5 years’ senior administrative experience, preferably in a University or healthcare environment
- Proven leadership and change management experience
- Strong financial acumen, including financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting experience
- Experience developing and leading high functioning teams, including the ability to engage and motivate staff and project teams
- Experience in a student recruitment and admissions environment
- Familiarity with office renovation, capital projects and space management
- Proven commitment to equity, diversity and inclusivity
- Proven leadership and management skills, including outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Superior planning and project management skills with a focus on executing and competing tasks under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain a broad perspective, and the ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with all levels of faculty, staff, learners, senior administrators and external stakeholders
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of the University of Toronto’s Administrative Management System (AMS) and a facility for working with project management tools and keep current with new and emerging technologies
- Advanced consulting skills, with the ability to work across the organization to influence decisions for a positive outcome
- Excellent conflict resolution skills with strong ability to exercise judgement, tact, discretion, and determination
- Completion of a recognized professional accounting program (CMA, CGA, or CA)
- Experience and knowledge of higher education curriculum and accreditation processes

The Rehabilitation Sciences Sector (RSS) in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine is a world leader in the delivery of rehabilitation sciences health professional programs and research. The RSS is comprised of four essential departments: Department of Physical Therapy (PT), Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (OSOT), Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) and the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute (RSI).
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, and with dotted line reporting relationships to the Chairs of OSOT, PT, SLP and the Director of the RSI, as Director, Operations, you will play a pivotal role in defining and accomplishing the RSS’ strategic goals and objectives. You will be adept at leading and operationalizing the RSS’ renewed vision through continual innovation and improvement to ensure consistent high-quality administrative support is provided to all programs, research and administrative services. Your proven ability to evaluate processes, identify and articulate vulnerabilities, and partner with key stakeholders to deliver quality business solutions will help us enhance the RSS’ efficiency, effectiveness and operational agility.
