      Duties: Create and develop Audible Canada’s Original spoken-word program by building a network of local creative classes and ideating Original content ideas that resonate strongly with the Canadian cultural and entertainment landscape. With full strategic ownership and P&L responsibility on the Original content catalogue, contribute to Canadian business growth and participate in other global business development activities related to Audible Original content. Ideate and identify lead projects, authors, and formats for Audible’s Canadian Original program based on cultural and social trends, local customer preferences and market research. Build and maintain an ever-growing network of local Canadian producers, scriptwriters, and authors, who can write specifically for audio. Structure, negotiate, and enter into new deals with content creators, collaborating with Audible cross-functional teams including legal and finance. Work as editor on Original programs. Maintain release plans in coordination with the wider Audible Canada team. Coordinate with the production teams for budget, recording schedules, casting, and celebrity management. Coordinate with Audible global Original teams ensuring collaboration and best-practice exchange. Position is fixed location based in Newark, NJ office; however, telecommuting from a home office may be allowed. 10% international travel to Canada is required for provider management, meetings, and events. International travel to other Audible/Amazon offices may be required for global business meetings.

      We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

      Newark, NJ, USARequirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Publishing, Communications, English, or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of experience in an account management, licensing or business development role within media entertainment (audiovisual, broadcasting or spoken word audio) focused on the Canadian market. Experience may be gained concurrently and must include:

      Five (5) years of experience in the following:
      - Applying organizational and project management skills to marshal cross-functional resources.
      - Establishing, managing, and growing relationships and partnerships with Canadian content providers in the media entertainment industry.
      - Structuring, negotiating and entering into new deals with content creators (e.g. writers, agents, producers, publishers etc.)
      - Managing relationships and project deliverables end to end.
      - Using Excel.

      Three (3) years of experience in the following:
      - Working in cross-functional and international teams under aggressive deadlines.
      - Editorial program development including rights and licensing.
      - Working in audio landscape, including working with digital audio distribution technologies.
      - Developing content plans, financial metrics, and goals for senior management.
      - Leveraging internal data sets and analysis tools and monitoring external trends to drive content acquisition and development decisions.Please see job description and the position requirements above.
