- Formulary Negotiations: Lead the negotiation process to secure favorable formulary placement, access, and reimbursement strategies for products across assigned accounts.
- RFP Responses: Lead the preparation of responses to RFPs, ensuring all requirements are met and value propositions are clearly communicated.
- Clinical Policy Improvement: Collaborate with key decision-makers to drive improvements in clinical policies and formulary guidelines, ensuring alignment with market access goals.
- Business Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business plans for priority national accounts, identifying and prioritizing growth opportunities.
- Key Account Relationships: Build and maintain deep relationships with key decision-makers at national payers, PBMs, and GPOs, positioning the organization as a trusted partner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs,) to align strategies that ensure seamless access to treatments for appropriate patients.
- Contract Performance Analysis: Evaluate and analyze contract performance, leveraging insights to inform strategy and improve negotiation outcomes.
- PVP Communication: Present payer value proposition and relevant health economics data on product portfolio to support efforts to secure positive formulary access.
- Customer Engagement: Active participations at all major market access conferences (i.e. PCMA,AMCP, Asembia, etc.)
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (MBA preferred); science/business focus preferred
- Industry Experience: 10+ years of progressive pharmaceutical/biotech industry with a proven track record of success.
- Role Experience: 5+ years of direct Market Access experience, with a strong focus on national payer, PBM, and GPO negotiations.
- Negotiation: Extensive experience in formulary negotiations, contract analysis, and responding to payer RFPs.
- Contracting: Demonstrated ability to analyze contract performance and use insights to refine strategies and drive business results.
- Communication: Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with senior-level decision-makers.
- Established Connections: Current relationships with key decision-makers, based on trust built through consistently delivering customer value.
- Collaboration: Ability to work with internal teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Business Planning: Proven success in business planning and developing strategies to grow market share and drive access in priority accounts.
- Demonstrable understanding of industry trends, market access insights and payer strategies.
- Demonstrates a high level of ethics, integrity, trust while acting with courage and candor.
- Ability to negotiate effectively and valuably with accounts, ensuring achievement of both short and long term goals.

DIRECTOR, PAYER ACCESS
The salary range for this position is between $200K and $235K
Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience. The company also currently offers a Long-Term Incentive Plan (cash plan) of 25% base salary, annual performance bonus target of 25% base salary (subject to meeting plan requirements) and comprehensive health benefits (employer funded), unlimited vacation time and 401k plan (subject to change or modification from time to time).POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Payer Access will be responsible for negotiating formulary access, improving clinical policy, and developing business strategies for GPOs, PBMs, and National/Regional payers. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of market access strategies that support the growth of our key brands.
