- Oversee the NBCU Sustainable Production Program for more than 70 productions worldwide
- Partner with the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) Film Strategy leadership to oversee reporting responsibilities of the UFEG Director of Sustainable Film Production & Content to ensure alignment with NBCU Enterprise Sustainability and UFEG.
- Supervise the NBCU Sustainable Production Specialist who leads day-to-day Sustainability communications and engagement with productions
- Collaborate with Sustainability Strategy team to pilot & train crew and production personnel on sustainable production operations & technology adoption
- Collaborate with Sustainability Data Solutions team on production accounting guidance and software integrations for carbon reporting
- Grow the Sustainable Production Program, especially focused on engagement of our divisions without established programs, through developing new KPIs, participating in long-range planning, and spearheading new initiatives to increase the adoption of sustainability best practices across our global brands
- Facilitate the hiring of Eco-Stewards and Eco-Advisors for individual productions and develop a sustainable training program across our global brands
- Identify opportunities for climate-concerned talent to participate in Sustainability, and partner with internal teams and climate storytelling organizations to produce data-driven insights to create the best impact from our assets
- Participate in internal presentations and speaker series to help engage employees and filmmakers, as well as represent NBCU externally by serving on industry partnerships/regional Sustainability groups such as:
- Sustainable Production Alliance (SPA)
- Environmental Media Association
- Hollywood Climate Summit
- And More!

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as: Environmental Sciences/Studies, Sustainability, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- 8+ years of experience in a professional role, with at least 3 of those years involving sustainability responsibilities
- 1+ years of supervisory experience, demonstrating the ability to lead and manage a team effectively
- Proven expertise in environmental sustainability and relevant technical skills, such as: greenhouse gas accounting, renewable energy tracking, carbon accounting, and data collection
- Prior experience participating in sustainability program roll outs from beginning-to-end
- A documented track-record of delivering sustainability pilot projects
- Master’s Degree in Sustainability, Management, Energy, or any relevant program
- Familiarity with production film/TV, broadcast operations
- Experience with climate storytelling or sustainability communications
- Experience decarbonizing productions
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Job Description
NBCUniversal is looking for a Director of Production Sustainability to join our Enterprise Sustainability team in Universal City, CA.
In this role, you will champion and represent NBCU on all things Production Sustainability. In front of the camera & behind the scenes, greening our Productions will be your focus. Our global production teams across Film, TV, International, Sports, News, Streaming and more will all look to you to bring real world, subject matter expertise to their businesses. You will educate & inspire our production teams to take sustainable action and use their voice as storytellers. Your work will reduce the environmental impact of NBCU productions around the world.
You will work with a wide range of internal, corporate, production, and external stakeholders and will report progress on program KPIs to senior leadership and the NBCU Sustainability Council.
You will report to the VP of Sustainability and will work closely with the NBCU Sustainability Strategy and Data Solutions departments in support of accurate emissions reporting, long-range planning, and implementation of our Sustainability programs. Leveraging the expertise of the Sustainability Strategy department, you will bring real world production technology solutions to pilot and train teams to drive adoption and alignment. The Sustainability Data Solutions team will support you in activating production Sustainability data to accurately account for production emissions impact, reduction progress and other key metrics documenting production sustainability performance. You will collect production sustainability stories to communicate, internally and externally, through NBCU and Comcast Communications teams.
