      Position Summary

      The Service Director is responsible for providing state and local tax consulting services to DMA’s clients. The Service Director participates in the DMA business process from business development to service delivery, reporting and client satisfaction. The Service Director is responsible for developing their staff to prepare them for all facets of the director position including client service, business development, future staff training, and administrative duties. The Service Director will work in conjunction with DMA Vice Presidents and focus on the execution of DMAs objectives, initiatives and client service principles. The Service Director will operate in a prudent financial manner focused on margin enhancement.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Lead, direct and perform all facets of client reviews and projects utilizing DMA’s standard approach and service division best practices.
      • Responsible for internal communication regarding client matters to all DMA service and sales teammates
      • Provide custom client-driven verbal and written communication utilizing DMA standard reporting and Reports of Findings formats
      • Interact with state taxing authorities in a professional, respectful manner
      • Maintain excellent knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and court decisions, specifically for assigned regional territory
      • Promote utilization of DMA technologies and efficiencies in client service delivery
      • Manage individual and staff production and revenue generation on client accounts assigned to team
      • Participate in growing division, region, and office from a market share and profitability standpoint
      • Participate in DMA Tax Community Events as a speaker or panel member illustrating expertise to the tax community
      • Hire, train, motivate, coach and mentor DMA service personnel with the intention of creating future DMA Service Directors
      • Manage and coordinate client and review activities of DMA service personnel
      • Identify DMA service personnel for professional career-growth opportunities and prepare them for career advancement within DMA’s promotional path guidelines
      • Provide career track feedback to DMA service personnel on a continuous basis and conduct a thorough annual employee review and career planning session
      • Assist Vice President’s with various special projects or events that occur
      • Provide production and revenue forecasting in a timely and accurate fashion upon request to Vice President

      Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Perform other duties as assigned

      Education and Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field
      • Over 10 years’ experience in tax consulting
      • Proven ability to direct and manage staff
      • Organizational and interpersonal skills required
      • Advanced technical knowledge plus advance knowledge of MS Word and Excel
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to meet travel requirements of the position (approximately 50%)
      • Valid driver’s license required
