Strategy - Research, develop and implement new linear and non-linear cross asset systematic strategies
Analysis - Assist in preparation of various market analysis and index performance attribution tools and materials for dissemination to client
Research - Develop and grow the index research and development platform and efficiently investigate index calculation issues
Marketing - Creation of cross-asset QIS marketing materials
Client solutions - Collaborate with other groups in Global Markets to provide best solution for the client and liaise with Technology partners to ensure infrastructure growth & stability
Product knowledge - Develop product knowledge through directed or self-directed study. Be prepared to cross train when the appropriate time arises, as suggested by management. Share any developed skills, knowledge, ideas with management and other members of Global Markets. Attend learning sessions hosted by the Continuous Learning Program as required
You can demonstrate knowledge of Business and Economic principles typically acquired through a university degree or masters and/or a combination of education and industry experience
You are technically savvy. Strong proficiency in SQL, Python are requirements plus strong proficiency in linear and non-linear index strategy development acquired through a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience
You can demonstrate knowledge of financial derivatives pricing. Knowledge of current financial markets, and an understanding of current systematic market transactions and market trends
You possess the ability quickly acquire knowledge, to demonstrate competence and to add value to the transaction and client relationships
You have the ability to multi-task and adapt to a fluid environment while maintaining focus. Confident, assertive, and able to function in a fast-paced environment
You have exceptional communication skills. Strong inter-personal skills, selling skills, and team player skills. Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
You are goal-oriented. Ability to work and resolve problems independently

What You’ll Be Doing
The goal of CIBC Capital Markets is to be the premier client-focused wholesale bank based in Canada. To deliver on this, the wholesale banking arm of CIBC provides a wide range of credit, capital markets, investment banking, merchant banking and research products and services to government, institutional, corporate and retail clients in Canada and in key markets around the world.
The Institutional Structuring Group is part of CIBC’s Global Markets team and in this role, the Director will support the Financial Institution and retail Client space specifically in the Index product space through the development of tools and Data management solutions. The successful candidate will place particular focus/emphasis SQL and python development. This role is an opportunity for someone looking to grow their skill set and knowledge within Global Markets in general.
