- Advise Chaplains on all matters related to religious education and youth ministry on a large multiple faith group Installation.
- Assess and evaluate religious education and youth ministry needs and programs.
- Advise on appropriate courses of action to improve religious education and youth ministry programming.
- Determine the requirement for specific faith classes/courses and establishes their priority in view of available time and resources, project schedules, and relationship to the objectives of the total education program.
- This position requires a Tier 2 - Non-Sensitive, Moderate Risk (Public Trust) background investigation.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Childcare background checks required.
- A Financial Disclosure (OGE-450) must be submitted by the incumbent upon entry into the position and annually thereafter.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- One year probationary period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualification for GS-11: Master of Religious Education degree or its equivalent from an accredited graduate school, AND a minimum of 2 years documented professional experience leading a religious education program. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your transcripts at the time of application for verification.)
OR
Graduate Degree of any discipline other than religious education which includes a minimum of 24 documented credits in religious education theory and practice or spiritual formation, AND a minimum of 2 years documented professional experience leading a religious education program. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your transcripts at the time of application for verification.)
Qualification for GS-12: Master of Religious Education degree or its equivalent from an accredited graduate school, AND a minimum of 1 year documented professional experience serving as a Director, Religious Education, GS 1701-11. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your transcripts at the time of application for verification.)
OR
Graduate Degree of any discipline other than religious education which includes a minimum of 24 documented credits in religious education theory and practice or spiritual formation, AND at least 1 year documented professional experience serving as a Director, Religious Education, GS 1701-11.
