      We're looking to add a senior social media leader to our Global Brand & Marketing Communications team. If you're passionate about travel, making connections, working with others, and providing an elite experience for our customers, you might be perfect for our team. This role sits across the global American Express Global Business Travel brand and requires a B2B social media expert to lead the team.

      As a senior marketing leader, you'll be a key part of our mission of Powering Progress Through Travel; As Director, Social Media you will lead a team of social media marketing experts, accountable for leading one of the world’s most recognizable and valuable brands - Amex GBT on a global basis. You will be responsible for implementing our social media strategy aligned to our commercial & brand objectives, implementing an enhanced social media plan, the management of our online reputation across community platforms such as review sites, and establishing relationships with key media / social platform partners. You will also lead the partnership with specialist agencies and handle appropriate creative & media budgets.

      This is based either at 666 3rd Ave, New York or remote on the East Coast of the US. Regular domestic travel and occasional international travel will be required.

      What You’ll Do:

      • Evolve and implement our social media strategy, linked to our social-first brand approach, including managing Executive spokespeople and review/community sites.
      • Maintain relationships with social media specialist agency partners and social media platforms with an opportunity to build new relationships with leading experienced partners.
      • Be a key contributor to the Global Brand & Marketing Communications leadership team.
      • Implement (and continuously optimize) a robust test-and-learn approach across all social media activity.
      • Enhance our social media creative expression across a wide portfolio of social media channels, including key Executive accounts.
      • Lead a team of social media experts to deliver against strategy and plan.
      • Enable your team to create best-in-class campaigns and grow engaged communities.
      • Define clear goals and lead the team on the development of high-impact creative that delivers against said goals.
      • Handle performance and tracking of social media and Senior Executive profiles. And, be able to share these insights across the business.

      What We’re Looking For:

      • 8+ years of senior social media experience working with high-profile global brands
      • Experience in B2B or demonstrable interest in defining social media for a large B2B brand
      • Evidence of strong and global people leadership skills
      • Demonstrate ability to turn critical thinking into action
      • Able to lead and operate effectively through periods of significant change
      • Experience in building senior leader reputation across social media platforms
      • Effective senior collaborator management and able to operate across matrix organisations
      • Open-minded, excited to try new and creative tactics, and perseverance to see projects to completion
      • International experience and working with remote teams and time zones is a plus
      • Proven experience of delivering results in highly commercial environment

      United States - New York - Virtual Location

      The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $100,000 to $200,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.

      In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Award plan, which rewards participants based on company and individual performance and is also eligible for awards under the company Equity Incentive Plan, which is designed to align participants' interests with those of shareholders.
