      We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader with experience in agile IT solutions delivery, platforms, IT solutions support with focus on continuous improvements of Service delivery. This senior, strategic role is responsible for the IT Solutions & Service delivery supporting the End-to-End manufacturing operations across all AstraZeneca manufacturing facilities globally, as well as partnering and providing thought leadership to other Operations and Enterprise IT leaders in developing an aligned strategy to support Business Operations.

      Role Description

      End-to-End manufacturing Operations at AstraZeneca comprises of the Pharma Development, Make, Quality, Digital Transformation & Sustainability [DMDT] business processes; The OPSIT-SSD DMDT Director will be responsible for all new IT solutions delivery, deployment & implementations along with maintaining all operational IT systems that help run these business processes.

      This role also establishes and enhances platform transition and growth strategy aligned to the deliverables under the Accelerate Delivery, Innovation and Optimising the way IT is run. In doing so, The OPSIT-SSD DMDT Director role is central to shaping the overall Operations IT Development, Manufacturing & Digital capability; One-IT vision and ensuring business strategies are effectively being addressed via delivery and close partnerships with other Global Capability teams.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Develop and implement IT strategies that support the Development, Manufacturing & Digital transformation across all AstraZeneca manufacturing sites globally.
      • Lead a team of senior IT professionals and teams in multiple countries to ensure:
        • All global DMDT IT solutions delivery & deployments are completed as per the program & portfolio plans, on-time & within budget.
        • All DMDT IT systems are properly maintained and are updated based on respective heat maps working with other global IT functions.
      • Co-work with other business facing & Project management functions to identify areas where IT systems can be used to improve business processes.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure that the company is using the most up-to-date technology.
      • Ensure that all IT systems are secure and meet regulatory requirements.
      • Ensure all System KPIs & OKRs [Tier Metrics] are maintained and measured against defined targets.
      • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for all IT systems in the scope.
      • Manage the IT budget for the DMDT operations of AstraZeneca.

      The ideal candidate in the OPSIT-SSD DMDT Director role, will have a strong background in IT systems supporting manufacturing, Quality & Engineering processes, like ERP, ERP Integrations, MES, Lab QC, LIMS etc. along with experience in leading a team of senior IT professionals.

      Essential Skills:

      • Demonstrated ability to act as a technology Thought Leader and drive new ideas / concepts into the business.
      • Experience running a global IT Delivery & Service Management organization with demonstrated ability to influence Senior Leaders and the direction of the business.
        Large IT-Program delivery experience, implementing global systems/processes and business change.
      • Experience of delivering multiple parallel complex IT delivery programmes.
      • Extensive hands-on experience working in Software Development, Engineering, Testing, and Release Management.
      • implementation of applications builds, release, deployment, containerization and configuration control management.
      • Hands-on IT systems service & support models following ITIL with deep understanding of IT Support KPIs
      • Understanding of software engineering CI/CD processes, with experience in the design and Strong Deep understanding of end to end IT operating models and processes.
        cross cultural people management and employee engagement.
      • Experience of working in agile teams using SCRUM methodologies.
        Adept at Talent & Attrition Management with effective succession planning.

      Required Qualifications:

      • At least 18 years of experience with Strong IT Solutions Delivery & Service
      • Strong knowledge of IT systems involved in supporting manufacturing & Engineering processes.
      • Previous experience controlling IT project budgets up to $30M.
      • Experience working in a global organisation where stakeholders and direct team members are geographically dispersed.

      Desirable Skills/Experience:

      • Pharma or Health care domain exposure
      • Exposure to IT landscape in highly regulated environments
