- Conduct site evaluations/survey visits of new store locations as required
- Monitor construction progress of active projects via multiple site visits during the course of project timeline
- Review and incorporate Landlord requirements and lease agreements
- Review and redline as necessary architectural drawings prior to permit submission and bidding to ensure accurate and up to date design specifications
- Prepare preliminary construction budgets based on project and lease requirements
- Coordinate project bid process, review, qualify and awarding of contracts
- Once contract is awarded, coordinate relevant documents and communicate information with Tenant Coordinator or Landlord rep as needed
- Ensure Supplied by Owner (SBO- lighting, flooring, back of house shelving/signage) items are procured and are coordinated to arrive to site as scheduled
- Obtain and submit all necessary documents for Tenant Construction Allowance claims.
- Manage change order process
- During active construction, provide on-site construction administration as necessary. Generate punch lists and ensure timely follow-up and completion
- Upon project completion, oversee and coordinate turnover process, including all punch list responsibility, ensuring all items complete
- Facilitate close-out of project paperwork, receipt of any Tenant Allowance within target timelines
- Assist with corporate office location construction projects (ex: renovations or any construction items in the NY/NJ office locations). Partner with the TB Office Services team to execute respective project
- Manage and continuously improve the value engineering process
- Develop and manage global budget by country.
- Own budgets related to Capex expenses (new build outs, renovations).
- Obtain budget approval for change order requests and execute on a timely basis
- Monitor and communicate weekly budget summaries and site reports
- Balancing budgetary and scheduling demands to ensure stores open on time and on budget.
- Promote an environment that fosters the respect for the ideas of others and supports ongoing collaboration to execute business strategies; measures own success by the team’s success.
- Leads by example and operates effectively in the face of continuous pressure imposed by the work environment.
- Provide leadership within the team by directing, focusing, and motivating team members to keep their efforts on track.
- Monitor development and performance of direct reports through regular meetings to discuss performance and development compared to goals; maintain a dialogue regarding their needs and concerns to aid in future development and increase retention.
- Effectively manage and support the career development process of direct reports to insure job satisfaction and future talent development.
- In partnership with the Talent team, recruit and hire staff by sourcing, evaluating and motivating high potential candidates to join the company.
- Provide a level of leadership and development activity that creates a succession plan within area of responsibility. Partner with VP on organizational planning and development.
- Continuously looks to innovate and improve our business processes.
- Track project status and communicate schedule inclusive of all updates with the relevant cross functional teams
- Manage cross-functional team relationships on an on-going basis by providing direction and constant communication on vision and strategy to unify team toward a common goal related to the project
- Consistently interfaces and partners with Real Estate, Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising, IT, Finance, Loss Prevention and retail leadership teams in the store development process
- Works with logistics and distribution partners to ensure timely materials delivery
- Manage and coordinate with consultants and vendors - including, but not limited to, general contractors, millwork installers, and suppliers
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related area
- 10+ years’ retail construction management experience in high end/luxury retail
- Extensive experience managing and developing teams/direct reports
- Knowledge of lease process and documentation
- High level understanding of Construction process and Mechanical systems; inclusive of understanding and ability to read and markup MEP drawings
- Market knowledge of construction trade and variables
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working in high volume capacity
- Strong decision-making skills based on changing conditions
- Highly motivated, self-starter with a strong sense of urgency
- High level written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project

The Director, Store Construction is responsible for overseeing the execution and tracking of approved Tory Burch operated projects (new store openings/remodels, pop-ups, and construction of corporate office space) from inception through project closeout and inspection/coordination of overseas fixture manufacturing for global markets, excluding Asia. This role will be responsible for contract review, processing and filing documents, monitoring all phases of project budget (pre, during and post project), maintaining master project files, processing and tracking purchase orders and utilities accounts. The Director, Store Construction will also partner closely and communicate with internal business partners (Store Design/Planning, Retail Operations, Finance, Real Estate) as well as external consultants and vendors. This role is based out of our Jersey City office, with flexibility required to work between NJ and NY offices as needed.A Day in the Life:

Compensation Range
The compensation range for this position is 170,000.00 USD - 190,000.00 USD. Our offer will be based on your relevant experience and work location.Benefits Information
