      Role Description

      BMS Strategic Consulting is an internal capability that will support key functions in making business decisions and driving key organizational priorities. This role will work cross-functionally to frame problems, integrate multiple analyses, leverage institutional knowledge, make recommendations, and ensure effective implementation of projects related to strategic initiatives that impact business direction and growth.


      Role Responsibilities

      • Work collaboratively with small project and cross-functional teams of colleagues to develop and execute project workstreams that provide insight and direction for key strategic levers to advance and grow our BMS business.
      • Lead select workstreams within a project, manage project deliverables, and create a culture of recognition and accountability.
      • Direct the analysis of complex sets of data and business processes.
      • Proactively monitor external market signals and trends that could impact business growth and performance.
      • Independently think through and analyze solutions to problems and develop hypotheses, frameworks, and methodologies.
      • Develop external partnerships that provide the perspective of the diverse ecosystem outside BMS as it relates to the business.
      • Create project communications to drive engagement of key stakeholders and adoption of recommendations and solutions, while promoting BMS culture and ESG values.
      • Create an engaging and inclusive work environment where team members are encouraged to collaborate and develop.


      Professional Qualifications

      • A Bachelor’s degree is required. An MBA or advanced degree in science or business is strongly preferred.
      • Minimum of 8+ years of industry-related experience, including experience in strategy development and/or strategic initiatives. Experience in pharma or life sciences experience is preferred.
      • Operational and/or P&L experience preferred.
      • Experience at a Strategy consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain) preferred.
      • Must be self-motivated and an independent self-starter with the ability to think strategically, drive performance, foster relationships and build alignment.
      • Enhanced ability to understand and translate market and competitive dynamics into strategic implications for business units.
      • Proficient with complex information and distilling it into a framework that helps facilitate decision-making.
      • Extensive experience supporting cross-functional projects in a global matrix organization.
      • Effective communication and presentation skills.
