      Position Summary

      As a key member of the UHN Procurement Leadership Team, the Director of Strategic Sourcing is responsible in leading the strategic planning, operational guidance and support to the successful performance of the strategic sourcing department. As a key advisor to executive leadership, on all sourcing related matters this role will also be responsible for:

      • Ensuring effective and efficient management of UHN sourcing activities including compliance with Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive, trade agreements and public procurement laws.
      • Leading the strategic planning/sourcing process including developing, implementing and managing leading edge supply chain management services and initiatives that will drive sustainable value and achieve efficiencies for the hospital and its affiliated organizations.
      • Participating and supervising others in projects relating to both the sourcing department and the University Health Network.

        Duties:

        • Support sourcing activities for all UHN products and services
        • Lead a Strategic Sourcing team consisting of 2 senior managers and 20+ staff
        • Develops, implements, manages and reviews short and long-term plans which are in alignment with UHN’s strategic goals and priorities
        • Develop and implement measures to monitor compliance, including escalation process
        • Monitors progress towards the achievement of goals at regular intervals and takes action, as required.
        • Represents the strategic sourcing department internally on UHN committees, as required, and UHN in the external community at conferences, workshops, etc.
        • Human resource management: recruitment, coaching and management of employee relation issues
        • Financial management: financial stewardship and accountability of the departments annual operating budget
