- Lead visual merchandising and windows presentation in NYC stores.
- Build trusting relationships and credibility with our Brands/Vendors.
- Creates an inspirational customer journey. Understands our customer profiles; ensures that the creative vision for visual merchandise direction is compelling and inspiring to drive an exceptional customer shopping experience and sales.
- Possesses strong Business Acumen. Understands what impacts positive results and will introduce business ideas that are aligned to our objectives. Business owner and manage to elements that drives profitability.
- Responsible for direct leadership and engagement of the NYC Stores’ Visual and Windows teams to execute on the Visual strategies.
- Serves as the primary NYC Visual Merchandising thought-partner for senior leaders of NYC stores, merchants and the fashion office – advocating for the needs that will drive the most unique, innovative and exciting animations and presentations in our NYC stores.
- Strategic & Creative Thinking: Creative, innovative thinker able to apply structure and rigor to complex problems, drawing actionable insights and translating them into a vision, strategy, and action plan. Ability to think creatively and understand scale and composition in visual techniques . Tell stories via 3-dimensional mechanisms and creates inspirational selling experience to drive conversion and sales.
- Cross-functional & Influence Based Leadership: Prior experience leading, developing and coaching a team of various levels. Ability to lead cross-functionally through influence and build relationships across functions and hierarchy levels to leverage smarter decision-making across our organization. Collaboration skills are critical.
- Customer & Colleague Champion: Thinks as a customer to anticipate wants and needs to the mutual benefit of the company and the customer. Designs solutions through an empathetic colleague-focused mindset.
- Powerful Storytelling: Outstanding written and verbal communication, storytelling and PowerPoint/presentation skills for diverse audiences.
- Prioritization in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to juggle multiple projects - can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize tasks, and communicate timeline and necessary action to team members.
- Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive company information
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
- Strong computer skills, including In Design, Photoshop, MAC, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Solution Orientation: Ability to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business. Open to learning new ideas outside scope or knowledge skillset to find new perspective.
- We encourage candidates with either a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply
- 10+ years of relevant work experience (retail, luxury, creative experience, store leadership, strategy)
- Physical Requirements: Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders; Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions; Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.

JOB OVERVIEW
The Director, Visual - NYC is responsible for the Visual Merchandising and Windows Presentation in our New York City (NYC) Stores. They will lead, inspire and drive the unique blend of visual and merchandise presentation with a strong creative sense of fashion leadership, merchandise presentation and innovative trend knowledge. They are responsible for creating new, unique and dynamic visual and fashion presentations to enhance the Bloomingdale’s brand image for the NYC stores.
