      Job Description

      Essential Functions of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that

      • Thoughtfully build and manage a best-in-class “Faith in Action” (volunteer service) experience at Catholic Charities with robust, mission-aligned systems
        • Partner with Senior Director, Mission Engagement, and leaders of our Program teams to identify activities within CCAC’s programs across Cook County suitable for volunteer opportunities
        • Publish a calendar of service and accompaniment opportunities that align with CCAC Strategic Vision 2030 and implement a scheduling system to pair individuals and groups with volunteer activities
        • Provide oversight of all volunteer experiences in Cook County and ensure that all volunteer engagement aligns with Mission Engagement Strategy and CCAC Core Values
      • Collaborate with the Senior Director-Mission Engagement in refining Catholic Charites’ “Faith in Action” (volunteer service) practices and systems
        • Develop a refined, organization-wide volunteer handbook, detailing volunteer roles and responsibilities, protocol, and best practices
        • Develop and implement a refreshed orientation, onboarding, and offboarding practice for new volunteers to Catholic Charities
        • Coordinate ongoing volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities
        • Lead development of an annual volunteer survey to determine opportunities for growth and improvement of CCAC’s volunteer experience
      • Execute key practices that underpin the CCAC volunteer lifecycle
        • Recruit, screen, train, and evaluate volunteers seeking to serve in Charities impact areas
        • Collect, analyze, and maintain data regarding volunteer background, skills, availability, and goals in CCAC CRM system to foster more strategic engagement
        • Manage and regularly update the CCAC volunteer CMS webpage
        • Ensure all volunteers are fully compliant with CCAC policies and procedures, including required screenings and assessments
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteer engagement activities at Catholic Charities in Cook County
        • Monitor all volunteer inquiry and communication inboxes
        • Leverage a dynamic leadership and interpersonal style to motivate and guide diverse volunteer individuals and groups in attaining enriching and transformative interactions with those we serve
        • Communicate across internal CCAC teams to ensure service opportunities are relevant, strategically aligned, and marketed appropriately to potential volunteers
        • Participate in community volunteer networks, attend volunteer recruitment events and fairs, and amplify awareness of service activities at Charities
      • Work closely with the cross-functional team (including leaders from Programs, Faith and Mission, Client, and Community Impact) that is charged with identifying, designing, and regularly monitoring the effectiveness of CCAC’s volunteer service experiences
      • Partner with broader Faith and Mission team to design and integrate, where appropriate in volunteer opportunities, deeper understandings/ explorations of faith, spiritual renewal, and justice

      Preferred: 5+ Years experience in volunteer management or related field

      Qualifications & Skills:
      Preferred: Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and punctuality and timeliness in follow-through; Strong relationship-building and communications skills, with the ability to motivate and encourage performance; Proven experience with cross-functional collaboration; openness and ability to engage in and contribute to team-based problem solving; Experience with CRM and CMS systems, Salesforce preferred; Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Suite, Office 365, SharePoint, and Azure.
