- Dir Work. Strat. & Culture and level 20: Salaries typically range from $127,380 to $169, 838 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 3 days per week. (subject to change)
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa, as a preferred location. Alternatively, the role could also be performed in from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto and Montreal.

- Collaborate and partner closely with the Vice President, HR Strategy to ensure talent solutions are aligned to critical business needs that help drive performance.
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of an integrated talent management strategy to align with EDC’s values and key business objectives.
- Cultivate EDC’s culture with programming anchored on behavioural competencies, values, employee experience, engagement survey and action planning, and crucial conversations.
- Utilize HR metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of talent management initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Continuously measure the effectiveness of all programs, identifying trends and insights to make updates/improvements on an ongoing basis.
- Lead, coach and mentor a team responsible for developing, producing, and designing programs, tools, and resources in support of People & Cultures strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the organization and within the People & Culture to help shape programs to enhance key employee experiences. Includes frequent executive engagement and board visibility.
- Develop and implement performance management systems and processes.
- Ensure alignment of performance management with organizational goals and objectives.
- Design and deliver leadership development programs.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure leadership development aligns with strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain a robust succession planning framework.
- Identify critical roles and potential successors within the organization.
- Oversight of EDC’s coaching program to senior leaders and high-potential employees.
- Develop internal coaching capabilities through training and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Implement strategies to identify and develop top talent within the organization.
- Conduct talent assessments and support the creation of individualized development plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years successfully leading and managing teams.
- Over 10 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Demonstrated track record of success in leading, developing, influencing, and executing multi-year strategic organizational talent, performance, employee experience, and change initiatives.
- Formal program ownership and leadership of key Talent Programs, including Succession Planning, Organizational Development and Design, Performance Management, Coaching, and Employee Engagement.
- Fully bilingual in both official languages (French and English).
- Proven experience managing external vendors and partners
- Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Exhibits a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
- Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for talent management.
- Understands the long-term impact of talent management on organizational success.
- Works effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
