      LOCATION: This position is onsite, office-based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid model - 3 days remote / 2 days in office- Tuesday & Wednesday)

      The Director, Youth Development Learning Design will be responsible for supporting the implementation of competency-based trainings and learning experiences that build capacity in youth development professionals to support whole-child development. This includes the activation of the National Trainers Initiative (NTI) and the deployment of training-related resources to drive scale and further support the decentralization of training across the Movement.

      This role will work within and across departments to ensure effective delivery and adoption of trainings through NTI.

      The Director will also support the field in their professional learning and development by providing consultations, coordinating and facilitating trainings, and supporting Clubs to develop and implement learning strategies and capacity-building approaches to increase their impact and drive youth outcomes.

      The role will be critical in supporting BGCA’s program quality priorities in expanding a body of professional learning and development tools that builds the capacity of adults to support the knowledge, skill, and behaviors evidenced by the implementation of national programs, activities and experiences that support overall youth development.

      Responsibilities

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

      Training Execution Core Functions: Develop competency-based training for various delivery methods to include in-person and digital delivery. • Develops competency-based trainings based on adult learning principles in a range of modalities. • Provides content development support to specialized train-the-trainer models. • Develops supplementary training resources to support greater impact • Facilitate trainings and certify trainers

      Professional Learning Development Core Functions: Develop the standards, processes, systems, and tools for the development professional learning development resources. • Support the design of a consistent system for development, redevelopment, and refresh of learning development resources. • Support the standardization of instructional design standards inclusive but not limited to adaptations, safety and inclusion standards to support the development of training, curricula and other programmatic resources for implementation across core program areas. • Partner with teams to integrate training and professional development resources and opportunities into their work to further drive outcomes. • Incorporate evaluation findings and emerging best practices in instructional design to support youth outcomes and adult learning objectives. • Support the development and release of content on Spillett Leadership University School of Youth Development and other BGCA platforms as relevant.

      Activation Core functions: Support the execution strategy to scale NTI across the Movement. • Support the implementation, promotion and adoption strategy for NTI to decentralize training across the Movement. • Develop processes and tools to support Clubs’ technical assistance needs related to scheduling, implementing, and tracking trainings in SLU.• Oversee outreach and engagement with the NTI community through regular communications, trainer community meetings, and special events.• Promote NTI at state, regional, and national conferences, and meetings.

      Portfolio and Project Management Core Functions: Develop operational procedures for learning design and development. • Establishes and manages funding deliverables for learning design. • Develops processes for effectively managing external contractors. • Effectively manage projects within portfolio to include project design and initiation, project management to include deliverables, budget, vendors, partnerships, internal and external communications.

      Leadership• Demonstrate a strong ability to contribute to cross-functional initiatives as a youth development content expert for Organizational and Executive Development Services, Government Relations, Resource Development, Marketing & Communications, Planning & Measurement, and others.• Demonstrate the ability to design and deliver national learning pathways activation across diverse organizational structures and capacities, demonstrating expertise in change management and continuous quality improvement. • Show a strong command of national education and youth development trends, regularly benchmarking the initiatives of peer organizations to ensure that all programs, training and initiatives are best-in-class for the youth development sector.• Demonstrate an exceptional ability to write and oversee the development of relevant professional development, tools, resources and pedagogy in the designated area of content expertise.• Deliver best-in-class services and resources to internal and external customers, guided by the highest standards of innovation and teamwork.• Present oneself in a professional manner at all times.• Able to present to a range of audiences including corporate executives, governmental officials, department heads, Club executives and staff. • Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

      Builds Networks and Collaborations • Serve as a subject matter specialist across core teams in the development and integration of the YD learning pathways• In consultation with internal and external subject matter experts, review/evaluate training content to ensure that it is meeting the intended objectives, and make improvements and revisions, as needed.• Build and manage internal and external BGCA partnerships in best practices in training design and adult learning. • Develop and manage internal systems for strategic learning, training and grow the learning culture within the BGCA organization movement wide.• Demonstrate BGCA mission driven I*CARE values, and integrate these beliefs into our environment and ways of work.• Treats others fairly, honestly and consistently.• Accepts responsibility for actions and those of team; confronts unethical behavior, engaging HR and senior leadership as appropriate.

      SUPERVISION EXERCISED• No direct Reports. May monitor and coordinate the work of temporary employees and student interns

      Qualifications

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE• Master’s degree or higher is required. Advanced degrees in youth development, adult education, curriculum design, behavioral or social sciences (i.e. psychology, public health, sociology) focused on conducting and applying research into policies, conceptual frameworks, trainings, programs or best practices, are preferred. • Experience in program design, instructional design training and implementation and youth advocacy or development and current social issues impacting youth is preferred.• Minimum three years of experience in program development, design, training and implementation, developing conceptual frameworks, strategic consulting or related discipline is required.• Weikart Methods, EART, and NTI Tier certification preferred but not required

      ABILITIES• Ability to carry out detailed and complex instructions; ability to interact with coworkers and public by telephone and in person as a member of a team to provide services to customers, both external and internal; ability to perform a variety of duties and to prioritize tasks to meet organizational needs. Ability to clearly and concisely exchange ideas, facts and/or technical information and guidance in person, by telephone, email, fax or correspondence. Physical requirements include: sight, hearing, sitting for four + hours a day, standing for one to two + hours a day, stooping; skills essential for successful communications include speaking, writing and reading comprehension.

      ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS

      • Normal internal working environment. • Travel estimated at 20% (can be up to 2-4 days or more in a month, including weekends, depending upon scheduling requirements).• Individual selected for this position must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to navigate areas of the country by using a map or other direction methods.
