      Description

      Citizens is seeking a dynamic and experienced Convertible Sales Trader to lead our convertible bond trading desk in New York. This individual will be responsible for managing client relationships, executing trades, and driving strategic growth in the bank’s convertible securities business. The ideal candidate will have deep product knowledge, strong institutional relationships, and a proven track record in sales trading.

      Primary responsibilities include

      • Lead the convertible bond sales trading desk, overseeing execution and client coverage.
      • Provide liquidity and market insight to institutional clients across both arbitrage and long-only convertible investors.
      • Develop and maintain strong relationships with buy-side clients and internal stakeholders.
      • Collaborate with capital markets, equity research, equity trading, and high-yield trading teams to deliver comprehensive market solutions.
      • Monitor market trends, pricing, and risk to optimize trade execution and profitability.
      • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk controls.

      Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

      • 10+ years of experience in convertible bond sales trading or a related field.
      • Deep understanding of convertible securities, capital structure arbitrage, and equity derivatives.
      • Strong client network and ability to generate revenue through relationship-driven trading.
      • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
      • Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of financial markets
      • Ability to understand complex market structures and electronic trading
      • Ability to perform in a dynamic trading environment
      • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
      • Excellent communication and organizational skills
      • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
      • Series 7, 63, 24 and 55 licenses (or equivalent) required

      Hours & Work Schedule

      • Hours per Week: 40 +
      • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

      Pay Transparency

      The salary range for this position is $250,000 to $300,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
